To be fair, this does help with my two pups incessant barking when they see a stranger, bug, squirrel, or my dad from a distance further than 12ft away. But there are some caveats.

This collar has to be on very tightly to work appropriately, and the dogs hate this. It does not choke them at all thankfully but they hate it a lot. The part which picks up sound on the collar does slide off to the side a lot and that seems to make it not respond appropriately when they bark. (Design flaw?)

It goes off whenever crows start screaming bloody murder, or when their cousin, same breed and age, lets out his bloody murder screams when he visits. This terrifies my poor pups and I cannot have them wear them while another animal is screaming in a high pitch.

In fact, it does not always go off right away and misfires frequently. Downsides of it beeping instead of just vibrating is that my one dog has chosen violence and decided to bark at the beeps when upset. I’ve had to up the sensitivity and that helped but… It goes off when crows or a dog with a higher pitch bark barks at them.

It makes me sad that it also goes off when my pups cry or growl while playing. They are allowed to express that they are sad, they are quiet about it and it lets me know politely that they need something such as to go to the bathroom. The growls are only ever when they play fight and I hate that this accidentally teaches them not to do a healthy behavior.

These are my notes about this collar, it works but comes with downsides. It’s probably better to get one with a button to click if you’re around a lot like I am anyway. Just be patient and attentive, this is probably better for someone who leaves home often for work.

Battery has not died yet, and I have not put it in water to test if it’d have any negative consequences. That’s for you and me both to find out unfortunately.

If you have dogs that bark like crazy when anyone walks by or in your house, I can't stress enough how freaking awesome these collars work! My husband did a job yesterday and the homeowner ended up being a dog trainer that had a ton of puppies on the property. They were so quiet! The trainer suggested sparklypets bark collars (NOT SHOCK COLLARS) when he mentioned our 3 crazy pups to him. They beep and vibrate at different levels to distract the barking and get longer and more frequent if they don't respond. If you have ever been to our house, you know how annoying our furbabies are..until you sit down and relax they won't shut up! God forbid you get up to use the bathroom! You are immediately a stranger again no matter how long you were sitting there. So, I ordered them yesterday and got them a couple hours ago today. Can I tell you that it works freaking immediately!?! I was in shock! They were each corrected like 3 times and now there's no barking when people walk down the street and they didn't even excitedly bark and howl when my husband came home! Now I just need my neighbor to let her c**n hound out in the backyard so I can put them to the true test, especially with our biggest pup Dias! He usually goes insane aggressive barking whenever he knows she's on the other side of the fence or sees another dog. Joey (the Chihuahua) is a nervous barker whenever someone new comes near him making him come off as vicious when in reality he can barely chew his dog food, hides under blankets to cuddle, and would never hurt a fly. Jeffy, our medium shih-poo is still super hyper but doing it quietly lol. I hope it continues to do the trick and they won't need them soon!! I figure 4-6 hours a day max so they don't get irritated. Fingers crossed for future puppy play dates and gatherings without the craziness!
