What a great job Lt Burroughs (not Perez) and Officer Vasquez did for our motorcycle ride today. The entire crew did great. Totally appreciate the support y'all provided for Jordan's Ride. She would have been awed at both the turnout and the professional manner in which it was executed.

Take a Break. Drive Awake. Be in the Know about Nighttime & Drowsy Driving A brief video that shares facts and helpful information for teen drivers about nighttime and drowsy driving.

Take a break. Drive Awake.

Studies have found a direct correlation between the number of hours a person works and their risk of being in a drowsy driving crash. People who work more than one job where their primary job involves an atypical schedule are twice as likely to be involved in a sleep-related crash when compared to people in non-sleep-related crashes.

National Drowsy Driving Prevention Week is November 5-11, 2023. DMV encourages everyone to prioritize resting before driving. Drowsy driving is another form of impaired driving and causes crashes, injuries and fatalities on our roadways.

In 2022, 24 people were killed and 1,466 were injured in 3,144 crashes involving drowsy drivers. So far in 2023, 18 people have been killed and 1,174 injured in 2,292 crashes involving a drowsy driver.

Does your child know who they can call in an emergency?

Have your child practice on a non-working phone. Be sure the phone is off, as 911 will still work on a non-activated phone. They can demonstrate how to dial 911, and you can pretend to be the 911 operator. Ask them questions about the pretend incident. Remind your child to speak clearly and slowly. They will need to know their full name, address, and phone number with area code. Practice often by describing possible emergency situations. Their skill and confidence will become better with repetition and practice.

The event was highly successful, with a staggering 194 pounds of drugs collected.

Prince George Police Department would like to thank the DEA, the volunteers, and the citizens whose participation made the event a huge success.
