I'm sharing this after almost 2 years. It evokes such strong feelings for me. I hope you find something moving in this painting.

La Posada, the play is coming together. The cast is rehearsing; the crew is building sets; costumers are building costumes; the prop master is collecting props; designers are working on sound, lighting and original music and the inimitable Joseph Davidson is creating a beautiful program filled with information on the play and the people. Don’t miss the fascinating story of La Posada Hotel and Gardens, located in Winslow, AZ, the last of the great Fred Harvey Hotels along the Mother Road Rt. 66 and architect Mary Jane Colter’s favorite creation. Every day, many times a day I walk past this lovely painting by Terry Wofford. I met her at a writer’s meeting in Prescott when I was seeking folks to write short pieces for performance on the subject of Climate Change. She approached me at the end of the meeting asking if I would be interested in visual art. “Yes!”, I replied instantly.
In her home she shared many of her paintings with me but specifically asked if I were interested in Adrift. At the time it was untitled and we brainstormed in front of it landing on the word Adrift. She gave me permission to use the image in my project, Climate Change and the Arts. Upon her untimely death before we developed a deeper friendship, she bequeathed this painting to me. It is both a joy and honor to have it hanging in my home. But it is a responsibility to be a good steward of it.
Alas the pandemic hit before I could follow through on the climate change project. Someday Terry...
