The Prater’s Mill Country Fair was a great experience for the Polk family this past weekend. What a fine opportunity to enjoy the outstanding weather, the beautiful area, and talk with a lot of people with an appreciation for wood and fine woodworking. “Good job!” to the Prater’s Historic Site Fair Committee.

About six weeks before Christmas, a client approached me for a 22” X 33” ” (stove cover) to fit her gas stove. She asked for a “butcher block” design, emailed pictures of a few she liked, and explained she wanted handles so she could remove and replace it on the stove. The project needed to be completed before Christmas. The picture shows the successfully completed project. It was completed just in time for Christmas! If you’re near Atlanta and thinking about a similar project, please contact me at https://www.weewoodworks.net/custom-quote. maybe I can help!

Our family gathers for dinners on holidays such as Thanksgiving & Christmas. Keeping fresh rolls warm on the table during those dinners could be as simple as a foil-covered pan or a towel-covered bread basket, but I decided to take advantage of the natural beauty and insulating value of cherry wood to make a covered bread bowl. It’s not huge at 8” X 8” but it looks great on the table, helps keep yeast rolls or my wife’s sourdough bread wonderfully warm and tasty, and it was tons of fun to make.

A good friend asked me to make her a for Christmas and a whole product line was born. Today, are one of most popular items. People who have used them love them. One lady approached me at a show and explained she traveled with hers because she didn’t have to worry about breaking it. Pretty, sturdy, and smooth; what else does a yarn artist need?

I started out making from the best cherry, maple, walnut, hickory, and sapele I could find using simple designs to keep their structure, use and maintenance as trouble-free as possible. Some of the results may be seen the website, www.weewoodworks.net. Of course, I welcome inquiries about as well. I’ve even made custom legs for a freestanding charcuterie board for a wedding, so ask us about your needs. Maybe i can help you as well.
