We are a grassroots organization of Filipino youth organizers.
We conduct political education, organize, and mobilize in our community to fight and defend our identity, rights, and motherland. Anakbayan Portland is a Chapter of Anakbayan USA working to educate, organize and mobilize our community to address important issues that affect Filipinos in the US and the Philippines. We aim to unite Filipino youth of all backgrounds in order to achieve genuine freedom and democracy in the Philippines.
Join us TOMORROW as we caravan up to Washington for PSONA, to speak out against the lies spread by the B**g B**g Marcos regime. Help us confront the Filipino consulate, protest PAX Silica, and the forced displacement and detention of thousands of Filipinos. Help us speak out against the corrupt Marcos Jr Regime alongside our kababayan to call out the bureaucrat capitalist who puts profit before people.
The historical People's State of the Nation Address, or PSONA, shows that genuine change comes from the PEOPLE, not the puppet government of our home country! We stand together and take action for what we want our nation to be!

On July 7th, 50+ community members from Oregon and Washington rallied outside the Northwest Detention Center for Uncle Tony, a beloved Lao migrant in our community unjustly detained by ICE. We heard speeches from Tony’s loved ones about his caring personality, and the impacts of missing his warm presence in our community. Tony’s situation is one of many; we continue to fight for the livelihoods of all migrants!

On July 4th, members of DMA OR visited Tony to hear updates he has from inside the Northwest Detention Center.
He mentioned how there are migrants being detained from as young as 17 years old to 73 years old and how his unit is always at max capacity.
We call on community to join us TOMORROW (7/5) for our unification call to discuss plans for the mobilization happening 7/7 for Tony’s hearing.

⭐️On June 20th, member organizations of DMA OR, Anakbayan PDX, PSU-CHRP, KSO, and PSU Kaibigan members alongside with community members and loved ones of Tony held a block party for Tony who has been detained for over 2 months now!
📣Speeches from Tony’s family and friends, community organizations and even Tony, who called in from the Northwest Detention Center (NWDC), filled the time. We gathered together to raise awareness and stand in solidarity with Tony and all Lao migrants facing arrests and detainments!
🫂Over 50+ people showed up to support Tony and participated in letterwriting and banner making to display their support. We will continue to show up for Tony until he is free!
