🕵‍♀️ Detecting the Silent Killer Earlier: A Roadmap for Accessible Pancreatic Cancer Screening 🤔 We’ve been thinking about this a lot. Could a more robust #pancreatic cancer screening paradigm have a similar success trajectory to #colon cancer screening? 💡 We posit in the our white paper (https://lnkd.in/geg2zqjq) that pancreatic cancer #screening through endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) could replicate the success of #colonoscopy screening by shifting from hospital-based systems to ambulatory surgery centers (#ASCs). While pancreatic cancer has a low 13% five-year survival rate due to late detection, surveillance programs using #EUS can detect 78% of cancers at Stage I, achieving up to 75% five-year survival for tumors under 1 cm. The paper presents the EndoSound Vision System™ (EVS™) as a solution to current access barriers, offering a lower-cost, portable EUS technology that works with existing endoscopes and is economically viable for ASC deployment. This approach could make life-saving early detection accessible to high-risk populations through the same outpatient model that revolutionized #colorectal #cancer #outcomes. #pancreas #cancersurvivors #patients #gastroenterology #innovationinhealthcare
