Thanks to for hosting another great Contractor's Corner with . It's always a joy to explore their always evolving collections of items that have been rescued from the landfill. Quote of the day: "waste is a moral failure".

We just wrapped this very fun project with our buds at - recreating a on their patio and of course, eating some of their delicious noodles while we're at it.
Stop by and check it out, 3808 N. Williams and tell them we sent you!
Enjoy a brief walkthrough of an almost completed daylight basement, yes we occasionally do neutral color palettes! 🤍
The first really nice week of the year was a great time for a site visit to our fire rebuild in the hills above Albany.
This is the first time we've seen it since the roof trusses went on, now you can really see and feel the interior spaces.
We've had a lot of projects with great views, but this one is definitely one of our favorites, overlooking the heart of the Willamette valley. On this day, we could clearly see the Three Sisters mountains, 100 miles to the east.
Enjoy some clips of the views from the living room, primary bedroom, kitchen and screened in porch.

A few progress photos from a quick site visit to check out some plaster samples for our new wet room. We don't have a name for this one yet but we'd love to hear your suggestions.
This is my first time seeing the quartzite installed in the closet and bathroom, and the new brass hanging rod in the closet. This is a classic old Portland house in the West Hills, we're making sure our updates play well and reference the original architecture. All of our fixtures are unlacquered brass, it takes some time to age but there's nothing like it after it has the chance to patina.
Well, I think we have the plaster color finalized, tile starts soon and we'll post some updates as soon as we can.
Happy September, Happy Labor Day and let us know what you think of the progress so far!

It was a big day for a site visit to .
The roof is on the new addition (just in time for the rains), the kitchen has been opened up with the old take-out-a-wall-and-put-in-a-big-ass-beam trick, and the front rooms have been opened up. Today's the first day where you can really see how this is going to work.
I want to live in a house that's all framing, no insulation and no wall surfaces. I think it's all beautiful and I hate to cover it up. I just need a big ol' barn.

My first visit to today. What a showroom! Mother Nature is my favorite designer.

One more from - The bathrooms in this house are really small. We didn't have room to expand the footprint, so we went for the wet room approach.
Lose the tub, put in a curbless shower and a wall mount toilet to preserve as much floor space as possible. Add a custom recessed medicine cabinet for max storage and top it all off with the usual spectacular tile job courtesy of .
Small but mighty!

RETURN TO THE BLACK PEARL
Can we talk about this kitchen? This kitchen is home to some SERIOUS cooks. It looks great, but it works hard. Every surface was chosen to be durable and easy to clean.
The thing you can't see is the massive steel beam in the ceiling that let us open up the kitchen and the living room, swipe right for a before photo.
This one hits because it feels like it's always been there, IMO that's the mark of a successful remodel. It's the kitchen this house always wanted.
My favorite details include the incredible laminate on the cabinets- such a nice feel, so durable and easy to clean. An excellent choice for any kitchen, especially white. So much more durable than paint.
The other detail I love are the custom designed integrated drawer pulls, carefully designed to work with elegantly manicured fingernails.
Last but not least, check out that pantry! Super custom, with open out shelving and integrated lighting, with plenty of room for all of the tomatoes and pasta.
