đLove Beyond Valentineâs Day: Celebrating Love All Year Longđ
Valentineâs Day may be over, but love isnât something we should celebrate just once a year. The most meaningful expressions of love arenât always grand gesturesâthey show up in the small, everyday moments that connect us to one another.
And love isnât just about romance. The ancient Greeks had many words for love, each capturing a different kind of bond:
â¤ď¸ PHILIA â Deep friendship and loyalty
đ STORGE â Family love and unconditional care
đ AGAPE â Selfless, universal love
đ PRAGMA â Enduring, committed love
đ¤ PHILAUTIA â Healthy self-love
So how can we embrace love in all its forms, beyond just one day of the year?
⨠BE PRESENT â Love isnât always about what we say; itâs about how well we listen. Give someone your full attentionâno distractions, no advice, just presence.
đĄ SUPPORT THOSE WHO NEED IT MOST â True love extends beyond our inner circle. Donate to a food bank, volunteer, or check in on someone who may be struggling. Small, thoughtful actions can make a big difference.
đą OFFER KINDNESS IN EVERYDAY MOMENTS â A heartfelt message, a thoughtful meal, or an unexpected favor can remind someone they are valued.
đ¤ GIVE THE GIFT OF REST â Love can look like easing someoneâs burden. Offer a helping hand, take on a small task for a loved one, or simply remind them they donât have to do it all alone.
đ NURTURE YOURSELF, TOO â Self-love isnât selfish; itâs the foundation for how we show up for others. Take care of your body, set healthy boundaries, and speak to yourself with kindness.
đ BE OPEN TO RECEIVING LOVE â Love flows in both directions. Let yourself accept compliments, lean on others when needed, and receive kindness without guilt. You are worthy of love, just as you are.

đLove or Attachment? This Valentineâs Day, Know the Differenceđ
With all the hearts and roses around, it's easy to get caught up in the idea of love. But is it truly loveâor just attachment?
For years, I understood that love wasnât about looking for someone to âcompleteâ me. I knew I had to work on myself first. But even with that awareness, I still found myself drawn into attachmentâmistaking intensity for connection, clinging to relationships that felt needed rather than chosen. It wasnât until my mid-thirties, when I met my husband, that I truly understood what love without fear felt like. Love that wasnât about proving my worth or avoiding loneliness, but about mutual respect, trust, and growing together. This pic is hubs and I, by the way đ
đ Attachment says: I need you to feel whole.
đ Love says: I am whole, and I choose to share my life with you.
Attachment clings out of fearâseeking control, reassurance, or validation.
Love grows from trustâallowing space for both connection and individuality.
Attachment is reactiveâanxious when the other person pulls away.
Love is secureâembracing differences without fear of losing the bond.
Attachment is a rollercoasterâintense highs and lows.
Love is steady, safe, and deeply fulfilling.
This Valentineâs Day, focus on healthy love by:
â
Building self-worth from withinâso you donât rely on others to complete you.
â
Developing emotional resilienceâlearning to soothe your own fears.
â
Setting boundariesâbecause love respects individuality.
â
Communicating openlyâhonest conversations create real connection.
Love isnât about holding on tightlyâitâs about growing together.
Drop a â¤ď¸ if youâve experienced healthy love, and/or a đ if youâve ever had to unlearn attachment-based relationships. Letâs normalize this conversation!

The Relationship You Have with Yourself đâ¤ď¸đ
The longest relationship youâll ever have is the one you have with yourself.
We invest so much time and energy into caring for othersâchecking in, offering support, and forgiving mistakes. But do we extend that same level of care and compassion to ourselves?
đ Do you listen to your own needs, or push them aside?
â¤ď¸ Do you celebrate your wins, or downplay them?
đ Do you set boundaries, or put yourself last?
This Valentineâs season, take a moment to reflect:
âĄď¸ How can I show up for myself the way I do for others?
Self-love isnât selfishâitâs the foundation of a healthier, more balanced life.
Drop a đ in the comments if youâre committed to strengthening your relationship with yourself this year!

â¨The Power of Dopamine: How Your Brain Fuels Motivationâ¨đ§
Ever feel that rush when you check something off your to-do list? Thatâs dopamine at workâthe brainâs natural âfeel-goodâ chemical! But itâs more than just pleasureâitâs the key to motivation, drive, and learning.
đŹHereâs how dopamine works:
đŻ Dopamine Fuels Motivation: Your brain releases dopamine in anticipation of a reward, not just when you get it. Setting small, achievable goals keeps your motivation high!
đ It Shapes Behavior: Your brain learns to repeat actions that bring rewards. Thatâs how habits are builtâyour brain craves the dopamine hit!
âď¸ Balance is Key: Too little dopamine? Low energy & lack of motivation. Too much? Impulsivity & unhealthy obsessions (like endless social media scrolling).
đ§ Dopamine & Mindset: A growth mindset (believing you can improve) actually increases dopamine when facing challenges. Your brain starts seeing effort as rewarding!
How to Hack Your Dopamine System:
â Break Big Goals into Small Wins â Each milestone gives your brain a dopamine boost.
â Celebrate Progress â Even small wins reinforce motivation.
â Focus on Anticipation â Visualizing success can trigger dopamine release before you even get there.
Dopamine isnât just about feeling goodâitâs the fuel behind action and growth. Use it to stay motivated, build better habits, and train your brain for success!

â¨Honoring Imbolc: The Quiet Shift Toward Renewal â¨đĽ
What is Imbolc?
Imbolc is a traditional Celtic festival that falls on February 1st or 2nd, marking the midpoint between winter and spring. It is a time of awakening and preparation, when the darkness of winter begins to wane, and the first signs of life stir beneath the surface. Celebrated in pre-Christian Ireland, Imbolc is deeply connected to Brigid, the goddess (and later saint) of the hearth, fertility, poetry, and healing.
Historically, it was a time to light candles and fires, symbolizing the growing power of the sun as the days slowly lengthen. It was also a period of cleansing and setting intentions for the new season, much like a spiritual early spring cleaning.
Ways to Celebrate Imbolc Mindfully:
đŻ Light a candle to welcome warmth, inspiration, and clarity
đż Declutter your space as a symbolic fresh start
đ Journal on what youâre ready to nurture in the coming months
đľ Make a simple, nourishing meal that connects you to the season
đą Look for signs of nature stirringâbuds on trees, the first flowers, or shifting light
Imbolc reminds us that transformation begins quietly. The work you do nowâinternally and externallyâsets the stage for whatâs to come.
Whatâs one small act of renewal youâre embracing this season? đżâ¨

đ Foodie Friday: Finding Balance in Every Bite (and Every Day) đ
This weekâs Foodie Friday is inspired by a nourishing Jamaican curry. Beyond its delicious flavors, itâs a reminder of how balance shapes our lives, both on and off the plate. đâ¨
đĽ Life Lesson:
Like a good curry, life is a blend of richness, spice, brightness, and depth. Each ingredient plays a role: creamy coconut milk soothes, lime juice brightens, and the veggies, legumes, and chicken ground it with substance. Similarly, every part of your life contributes to the bigger picture.
So, whatâs missing in your lifeâs recipe right now? Do you need more richnessâmoments of joy and indulgence? Or brightnessâenergy, clarity, and optimism? A small adjustment, a new âingredient,â can transform everything.
đĄ Coaching Takeaway:
Balance isnât about perfect equalityâitâs about harmony. This weekend, take a moment to reflect:
Whatâs nourishing you right now? Think beyond foodâwhat relationships, habits, or activities are filling you up?
What could use more seasoning? A goal youâve been putting off? A passion you want to reignite?
đ˛ Final Thought:
Like a curry, your life is a recipe youâre creating day by day. A small shiftâwhether in a meal, a habit, or a perspectiveâcan make a big difference.
Let me know: Whatâs one area of your life youâre ready to âseasonâ this week? Iâd love to hear in the comments below! âŹď¸

đ Janus: The Myth Behind January and New Beginningsđ
January takes its name from Janus, the Roman god of beginnings, transitions, and doorways. Janus was believed to guard thresholds, holding the keys to new opportunities.
Heâs depicted with two faces:
- One looks back at the past, reflecting on whatâs behind us.
- The other gazes ahead, ready to step into whatâs next.
When it comes to healthy eating, January is like standing in a doorway. Itâs your chance to reflect on how your food choices made you feel and decide how you want to nourish yourself moving forward:
đ´ Look back: What meals and routines brought you energy and balance last year? Maybe you loved prepping your lunches or felt off when skipping breakfast.
đ´ Look ahead: Whatâs one intentional change you can make to support your health in 2025? Maybe itâs adding a veggie to your plate, swapping soda for water, or eating more mindfully.
⨠Hereâs the secret: By reflecting on your eating habits with intention, you can align your daily choices with your long-term goals. Like Janus, you have the power to look back, reset, and step confidently into the healthiest version of yourself this year.
đ Exciting news! Iâll soon be giving away 2 FREE coaching sessions to help you jumpstart your New Year goals.
đ Make sure youâre following me so you donât miss out on the details!
đŹ Iâd love to hear from you: Whatâs ONE healthy habit youâre ready to start in 2025? Share it in the commentsâIâd love to cheer you on!
