Hi everyone! Haven’t posted much lately. But life is good. It’s been busy but fulfilling.
I did find some time to paint another woodland creature piece for my daughters. It’s going on the wall in their nursery.

Your Sweet Soul. Acrylic & Colored Pencils on Paper. 11 x 14 in.

I can’t believe my firstborn is already 20 months old and that my wife and I will welcome our second daughter in August. Life is about to get even more busy. At the end of the last year I took on a leadership role at my main fashion day gig and it’s been a wonderful learning experience. So lots going on in the offline real world. Hope you are all doing well out there. It’s some strange times we are living through.

From the sacred pond of existence, our mortal kaleidoscopic dreams ripple across the surface. We weave tales of love and loss, triumphs and setbacks, echoing the perpetual cycle of creation and dissolution.

What a fascinating time to be alive. So many comforts of modernity. Technology is increasingly accelerating, offering us all so much connectivity and knowledge at our finger tips. And yet, despite being more connected than ever, a silent epidemic of loneliness and isolation is growing. Misinformation spreads faster than truth. The emergence of Ai is filled with both promise and fear. It has the potential to liberate us from tedious tasks, to solve complex problems, cure medical conditions, but without the wisdom of the collective whole to guide its development, it could also deepen inequality, displace millions, isolate us even further and become a tool for manipulation. Our collective human organism creates political, economic and environmental systems that seem to often be driven not by the wellbeing of the collective whole, but the ambitious of the powerful few. Despite our intelligence and innovation, we still wage wars, still exploit and still struggle to care for the vulnerable among us.
The cost of living and housing is going up, while the wages struggle to keep up. People seem to be divided and isolated in their echo chambers, seeming to forget that we are one big collective human organism. We are interconnected. To wish ill upon another, is to indirectly wish it upon oneself. This perspective that encourages compassion, patience and a willingness to understand others, would take us far as a human organism.
While reflection on this current state of humanity one night, I recalled a sculpted bust I saw in September of 2023 at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy: “Head of a Woman” by Domenico Trentacoste (c. 1905 & 1910). Something about the subject’s expression, so layered and complex, seemed to embody the tangled emotions that almost mirror the present collective human consciousness. In a way, I imagined this might be the kind of expression the Statue of Liberty would wear if she could bear witness to its nation. Which is why I titled this small painting “Portrait Of A Nation”. Still I remain hopeful about our future.

One of the few woodland themed paintings for my daughter’s nursery. Adding a bit of magic to her space. It was fun to create something more playful and cute.

Little painting based on the sculpture “Untiled_holding hands (aluminum)” by Daniel Arsham x Hajime Sorayama. x
A beautiful reflection on the future of human intimacy. Super relevant as our reliance on the comforts, sedation, and conveniences of technology continues to grow. Those who outsource discomfort of life’s challenges to machines will shrink their emotional and relational capacities. Those who design their lives to require other humans will deepen it. No matter how easy, validating, or emotionally soothing technology can feel, it can never replace the raw, messy, and deeply human bonds formed with other people. When humans begin to fall for Ai, it’s not Ai’s fault. It is more a reflection of our own fragmentation, polarization and growing inability to remain present with one another in ways that require patience, vulnerability and shared humanity.

A small drawing of my wife from September 2023, made in Ravello, Italy, where I proposed to her at Villa Cimbrone. During that trip, knowing what I was about to propose to her, I thought about her and our future life constantly. Drawing her became the only way I knew how to hold that feeling and make it tangible.

It’s the smallest peak at the officially licensed alternative movie poster of: “DUNE 1984” by David Lynch () made possible by and , featuring . An honoring of the original DUNE movie leading up to the release of the much anticipated DUNE 3 in 2026.
✨
One of the reasons I was drawn to working on this movie poster was how relevant it felt within the current political climate. I kept hearing Frank Herbert’s words in my head:
“I wrote the Dune series because I had this idea that charismatic leaders ought to come with a warning label on their forehead: “May be dangerous to your health.” In short: “Power attracts the corruptible”.
Given the state of things today, it feels as though many people have forgotten how deceptive leaders can be, how easily they frame their agendas as being “for the people,” much like Paul Atreides did for the Fremen. In reality, there is often a hidden personal agenda that is not in the best interest of those they claim to serve. The intensity Paul carries through his presence is something I hoped to communicate with this poster. I’ve also come to recognize that I’m inherently skeptical of all political leaders, a perspective shaped by growing up in the Balkans and witnessing firsthand how corruptible leaders can be.
Additionally, Paul’s connection to spice feels reminiscent of how many Westerners have turned to ancient psychedelic plant medicines in pursuit of enlightenment or deeper self-awareness. Too often, these powerful substances can distort perception, leading individuals to believe they are messianic figures destined to guide others toward salvation or a new way of life. History has shown us, time and again, how that story tends to end.
✨
Special thanks to the current Mondo Creative Director Nolan Fleming , as well as the former Mondo A.D. Josh and the color separation wizard Jon for working with my super busy life to offer a lot of flexibility to make this poster happen.

A little painting of my little daughter from last year. This is around a 2 month mark. She is now almost 17 months. I can’t believe she exists. I love her and her giggles so much. ❤️😊
