MAJOR UPDATE:

Last Friday, our landlord informed us that our rental facility has been sold, and we need to vacate the property on June 28. This was not a surprise as we had previously been informed of this possibility. This location has been so special for us since August 2021. But we trust that God will care for us in this transition.

Our leadership and church body are actively discerning next steps. Thankfully we have been preparing for this possibility and we have some good options to explore with wonderful neighbors. And we are so grateful for a church that is committed to each other’s well being as we follow Jesus by seeking justice in Southeast Portland, together.

WE DO NOT KNOW YET WHERE WE WILL GO.

This means there is significant work ahead in preparing for this move. Here is what you can expect in the next three weeks:

MAY 24 10 AM Listening Session
A time to hear from one another what is stirring in our hearts.

MAY 31 10 AM Final Worship Service
Let’s Celebrate What God has done in this location!

JUNE 7 11:30 AM Farewell Cookout
Food, Celebration, and Final Goodbyes.

OUR TIME AT THIS LOCATION HAS BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF TRANSFORMATIVE.

God has refined our vision and added to our community. We leave stronger than when we arrived. And we are so proud to leave this place better than we found it.
We look forward to the next chapter of following Jesus together.

“Mothering is bigger than biology - it is the holy work of:

showing up,
feeding people,
listening,
protecting dignity,
teaching courage,
creating belonging,
tending wounds,
making room at the table.”

Enjoyed some small church magic last Sunday during “Honoring Those Who Nurture.”

We invite you into the Holy space we create together in authenticity and wholeness. On May 10, we will honor mothers and caregivers with joy, while making room for the complicated realities many people carry on Mother’s Day.

What a day we had! We appreciate hearing from Joel To.

“You stay in this space for the moment. Notice what is stirring in you. Where do you feel troubled? Where does God want to bring presence in your personal life, in your church, in your community?”

You are welcome with us any Sunday as we create, together, a community that asks questions and seeks the healing of all God’s children. Come as you are.

Delighted to welcome Special Guest Joel To into worship this weekend.

Joel is the founder and Executive Director of SoulRoots, a ministry focused on spiritual formation and soul care. An ordained pastor and spiritual director with over 20 years of experience, he weaves together diverse spiritual practices to help people deepen their relationship with God. As a second-generation Vietnamese American, Joel brings a rich intercultural lens to his work, exploring how spirituality, culture, and identity shape faith. He’s passionate about walking with adults who feel stuck in their spiritual journey, helping them rediscover a grounded sense of self in Christ.

Joel lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife, Lisa, their two teenagers Kaden and Addysen, where they enjoy travel, good food, and cheering on the Portland Timbers & Trailblazers.

“The POWER GOD GIVES is not power to dominate other humans.

The power God gives is power to follow Jesus by standing in solidarity with the suffering and persevering in love.

When we cling to those who are suffering, whether personally or systemically, we are clinging to Christ. And when we are suffering, whether personally or systemically, Christ clings to us.”

An Eastertide Word on Acts 1:6-8 and Hebrews 5:7-14 from Pastor .

A Good Word from on the nature of the Church—A God focused community of people who belong to each other, held together by teaching, prayer and communion.

“When we are aware of God’s presence, we don’t need spectacle.”
