I'm 33, a 6-year recovered IV He**in addict, and just beginning my career as an author, however, my career as a writer has been lifelong. At 13 years of age I had an existential crisis, "What was the purpose of life, what is the meaning of it all?" We are born inherently with no value, we must make our value, our purpose, and that journey is one of self-discovery. No one can answer that for you. T
his led me to become a very anxious, very depressed child, teenager, and adult. I journaled as a writer does before they know they are a writer about the pain of existence, heartache, and pain of life. I also wrote poems on a near daily basis, most were very "emo" and "cringe" but somewhere in there, waiting to emerge. At 9 years old I picked up playing the drums, by 12 years old I was playing songs such as Rush's "YYZ" and "Tom Sawyer" without skipping a beat. I joined bands at 15 and became renowned as one of the best drummers in the Poconos. I continued writing music lyrics, poems, and short prose throughout my adolescence for emotional survival. It wasn't until a good friend (Jared Acosta) asked me to write for an upcoming Local news media company (Pocono Update) that I began perfecting my craft. And so it began, I wrote articles accumulating over 1 million views regularly, and whenever I decided to write something or come up with an idea I always had one that would catch fire. For the first time in my existence on this Earth, I am betting on myself, my talents, and my iron will to succeed. My books, poems, short stories, and those words will live forever within you. I plan to write books that challenge people's thoughts, minds, and emotions. I want to make them laugh, cry, and ponder about the cruelties of life and its blessings. I am from a long lineage of warriors, you may have heard of General Guan (Kwan) Yu, my ancestor known for his loyalty to Liu Bei and his people who resided among the three kingdoms. My Dad even strongly resembles his visage. I plan to make my family proud from this generation to the last, hell or high water, nothing will stop me from writing, because as a writer, writing is like breathing, it's something I have to do, not something I just want to do. I want to work my way into the hearts and minds of people all over the globe. Thank you for letting me share a little about me.
