When i grow up/
I hope to be half the man/
That Ron F Stampler is/

Ron F Stampler /
Businessman, entrepreneur /
Actor, comedian, singer/songwriter/
Bonafied Stud by blood/

On first glance he appears/
Passable to mildly alarming/
With his tiny bald head/
And his incredibly relatable/
Uneven distribution of body hair/

Don't let his cool guy boxers/
And roguish demeanor fool you/
Beneath that mustache /
And that mustache/

Is a man/
With a heart so big/
He taught me growth/
Can be found in the darkest places/

I have never seen another man/
So willing to be humbled/
For the people he loves/
Never before witnessed/
A father step up for their own inner child /

When the nights are long/
And my friends and lovers/
Cling to lifelines and safety nets/
I want the wisdom of /
Ron F Stampler/

To know when to say/
The water- it's actually pretty warm/
When to open arms to my struggling self/
And say i'm sorry/
I'm so sorry, we ended up here/

When i grow up/
I want to be a man/
Whos lasting impression is/
That you are enough /
Just as you are/

I am learning spanish
Primarily for work, i have a large
Spanish speaking client base and I want
To do better than google translate and charades

I am also, stupid charismatic
So language is easy for me to charm
My way though fu***ng up too badly

This is important, as a guest once
Heard me practicing
And excitedly proclaimed,
I DID NOT KNOW YOU WERE BILINGUAL

And i had to stop them,
because, i am not
In my opinion, bilingual

I pick up language, like a child with legos
Im building tools to try and
Help me communicate my intentions
Im passingly fluent in ASL
I fake my way through small spanish conversations
Last month, i started Japanese, and hiragana is starting to make sense

Duo the owl loves and hates me
Watches me power though 6 units in a day
And then disappear for a month as my life
Catches fire
And i burn up all my words
As fuel

Im learning language to try and find
The right way to speak my truth
To make sense of the things
Echoing around my body

The word for dirty
In Japanese
Is kitani
I hear it as i walk the rooms
Of my depression strewn home

Somewhere in these words
I can see parts of myself
Coming together

Hoy estoy cansado
Today, I am tired

Somewhere in the language
There is a key
To unlock this door

In asl, you put your hand, in front of your face
And gesture to your whole being
To indicate beauty

I am searching inside
All this language to find the way
To say it from my chest

Watashi wa koko ni imasu
yo soy aquí
I am here

Its November 22nd, 2022
I'm dressing up for the night
And the news is playing a clip on
Colorado springs

Stop me, if you've heard this one
A g*nm*n, walks into a g*ybar
Every punchline delivered
Straight to our guts
Each headline a strip
cut from our flags
every year a rerun
As our numbers plummet
Our safe houses
Turn hunting ground

When g*nfire erupts
Over euphoria
Does it make a sound?
Does the muzzle flash
Blend with the hot lights
Bl**d on the dance floor
And we slip in the rhythm
of this daily routine

When all we have is our gogo boots
And our hope that maybe
We can be tenacious enough to live
In any crevice capable of holding Soil
Any place where we wont
Be stepped on too much

And I can buy rainbow boxers
At target
I can get pride flags at
The gap
I can watch bi teen witches
Kiss on daytime d*sney television
And try to ignore the story
Of two unarmed patrons
Against a bigot in armor

So many of us left
our homes that night
Most of us just
Wanting to dance

What does it say
About us q***rs
That with d*ath as the barback
And glass like glitter in our hair
We still open our hearts to the music
Still choose to dance with our devils
Until the final call
Until the lights come up

And if we go out
We will go out
Like it's our last night on earth
Over and over
And over again
