We are closing up shop for the holidays early this year for a family adventure in the UK. It’s been another busy and fruitful year designing outdoor spaces in the Pacific Northwest for Fusion Design. I always enjoy a client request for a front yard gathering spot to commune with neighbors. Currently on the design table for a sweet SE young family with a beautiful neighborhood collective.

This was an incredibly fun front yard make over project . Our historic Ladd’s project opened up an awkward double narrow staircase engulfed with boxwoods (see before pic), added a gathering spot for friends and family to enjoy, and celebrated a modern take on the Arts and Crafts era with the use of steel, brick, stone and concrete. Installation by Arcstone and Fiddlehead landscapes. ̇gn

Modern organic design :: urban outdoor living spaces are one of our specialties . Our NE Wygant project was completed in June of 2025 for two busy young professionals that wanted an outdoor retreat. In the running for my favorite project of 2025…I absolutely adore this space and the clients that call it home .

Entrance gardens have the opportunity to evoke entering the residence long before the threshold of the front door . The Sherwood entrance path echoes the stunning architecture of the structure.

Stumbled on this gem today during our office remodel. My first press from 2008.

Site visit / check-in on a fun summer project. The girl@in me was called to surround the green with naturalized grasses /perennials/ and crape Myrtles for a coastal dune vibe.
