In addition to the content of this site, we also do periodic mead workshops in the local community. We are based in Maine but are willing to travel to do mead workshops. Contact us for more detai

I didn't make much mead in 2015, but what I did make are among the best I've ever made. Happy to have them bottled.

It's been way too long -- nearly a year! -- since I've made a batch of mead. Happy to be back at it with Elderberry Mead.

I had my first bottling session in a while today. That's kind of what happens when your production rates slow down as they have the past couple of years. Only 24 bottles, but boy are they purty.

Spruce Mead has always been one of the favorite brews I do, in that while it's not my personal favorite, I've had more people tell me my spruce mead is the best mead they've ever had than any other brew I've done. It's been 2 years, so long overdue for a batch. Should be ready to bottle around Yule, which is perfect timing.

I made another traditional mead tonight, using some of the leftover ingredients from last night's bochet. In honor of today's full moon, I named this one after Máni. Hail!

I finally racked these meads tonight. They are both delicious, and sweet, coming in at about 14.5% ABV with 3% remaining alcohol potential. The Raspberry Harvest has more overt fruit flavor, probably because raspberries have a more intense flavor than blackberries. The Blackberry Harvest is smoother at the moment. The color of the Raspberry is more vibrant as well, which isn’t a huge surprise. I can’t wait to see how they age!
