Some of you may be reading this post and wondering “who the hell is this Karina Polenske person?!” Please read on if you want an explanation of this shift in my account.

Weaving is a craft that has always been deeply therapeutic for me. It forces me to slow down, focus and repeat; things I’m not usually good at. It also served as a creative outlet, and a way to unwind after a long day at work. I started Tangle Studio as a way to bring this craft and my work to more people.

Over this last holiday season I realized that this business has become something totally different for me. Weaving started to feel like what it had been an escape from; Work. Creating for the sake of making money is not what I want this outlet to be. Instead I want to experiment, fail, succeed, and laugh, taking you all along for the ride.

I’ve made the decision to convert this account back to my personal account. I want the space to discuss whatever is interesting me at the moment; whether it’s rearranging my living room, traveling to a new city, or how I haven’t washed my hair for 5 days to really put this new dry shampoo to the test.

I know that some of you started following me because you are interested in my weaving work, and I understand if you want to unfollow. But if you stick around, we can figure this thing out together.
