Thrifted a mason jar full of little printing blocks the other day. The cashier who rang me up said "oh man, we really WILL sell anything, won't we?!" πŸ˜‚ she obviously did not see the amazingness that I did πŸ” πŸ”’β€οΈ

Pretty darn proud of this before & after πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ rescued this old lady from a basement and gave her a FULL makeover. Not gonna lie, I kiiiind of wish I was keeping this one. But it's available for sale at at the Portland Flea for All (open Thursday- Sunday!) if anyone wants to bring this classy dame home with them .

TA-DA! The cabinet I posted about last week ended up getting quite the makeover! I *was* just going to clean it up and seal it but the further I got into it the more I realized the wood was reaaaally calling for some paint. SO! I went with a light blue-green paint, and upcycled the plain wooden k***s that came with it by decoupaging some fun paper onto them. Now that it's all gussied up, it's on its way to the Portland Flea for All (which is opening next week!!! πŸ˜€πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ). I think it'll really up the adorable-ness level in some lucky person's home

-What color would YOU paint this piece?- Now that we're in our new apartment I FINALLY have space for projects, so I've started accumulating some furniture to re-do. I got this little cabinet/dry sink last week and I've changed my mind about 80 times on what I'd like to do with it. At first I thought I'd just clean it up, maybe stain it and seal it. Someone already did most of the stripping, which is good. BUT there's some staining on the top I don't love. So then I thought maybe it would be kiiiiiind of wonderful to paint it DARK. Like a reaaaally deep blue or green. Maybe chuck some copper k***s on it. But then I thought maybe gray. And then today I bought mistinted almost minty green paint and pondered that. So, I'm pretty much just so excited about possibilities that I've stalled out. I mean, it could always get painted white. What do you guys think? What color would work best on this cutie?

Kind of dying over these little pieces of trim I found. Yes. Yes, those are cranky ducks fighting over worms and yes, we're in love. 😍🐀❀️

Soooo.. I may have bought an old doll head the other day. Just the head. No body. My husband practically threw it across the apartment this morning when he realized the eyes blink when you move it πŸ˜‚ what should I do with it? Any suggestions? The lady at the store said I should make it into a terrifying nightlight hahaha

Little vignette from the booth. Old timecard holder, small, cute pitchers (the gray one is a pfaltzgraff, and even though it's scratched up, I couldn't resist it. I'm on a real pottery kick lately, even though I usually hate breakable stuff)

One of my summer projects is a booth at an antique mall. Because I had way too much stuff in storage. And in my dining room. And my closets. Ahem. For now, it lives at the Buxton Antiques Emporium, so if you happen to be out in the country, go say hi to my stuff! You can even buy some, if you feel so inclined. I'm still noodling with the setup and it's not as fancy as I'd like yet, but, baby steps and all that. Word? Word. .

I'll be using this here Facebook to update you about blog stuff and show you what sort of adventures I'm getting up to. Feel free to follow along at http://www.graybird.me

The absurdity of women’s clothing sizes, in one chart 08/14/2015

This is why it's SO important to read measurements when shopping online, and to try clothing on when shopping in person, rather than going by the labeled size. IT'S ALL MADE UP, Y'ALL! Stop defining yourself by imaginary numbers and wear what fits and what makes you feel good
