Happy ! Portland Dining Month came back this year and we used it as an excuse to try the only Indigenous restaurant in the city and got this gorgeous (and delicious) tostada with duck, butternut squash and bean mash.

Taking a road trip can be expensive, so make sure you know how to optimize your trip and dollars in order to get the most out of it.
Everything is bad right now, especially if you're trying to plan a road trip, because gas is outrageous. In some spots around Portland, it's almost $6/gallon. Insanity!

If you're still planning to hit the road, here are 3 ways to save on gas:
🚙 Get a tune-up before you leave, so your car is running at its most efficient
🚙 Use the app to find stations along your route. You can also use Google Maps to show you nearby stations and their rates

Do you love driving on your trips?
Renting a car can be a serious drain on your wallet, so stop wasting money with these three tips:
🚙 Instead of a traditional rental company, use a car share app like or . Not only are they usually much cheaper, but they don't scream 'rental car', targeting you as a tourist.
🛻 Always join the rewards program, especially if you use the same rental company, because you can get some sweet deals sent to your email. Some places this allows you to skip the line entirely and just go directly to the cars, saving you time, too.
🚗 Use your own insurance instead of paying extra at the counter. This is best if you have full coverage and/or a reasonable deductible. Many credit cards also offer free rental insurance as well.
