Everyone loves the idea of being an entrepreneur—especially today.

But the truth is, nothing can fully prepare you for this life. I’ve found that most people make excuses for why their business isn’t where it needs to be—or why they haven’t even started.

The reality? You can quit your job too ya know lol. But where do you start?

HAVE A PLAN

Before I quit my job, I worked full-time while building my business. I calculated how long it would take to get things up and running, and my focus was simple: get paying customers as fast as possible.

For 10 months straight, I woke up at 4:30 AM, worked on my business until 7 AM, then commuted two hours to Long Island. That long train ride? I spent it thinking and strategizing.

After work, I stayed until 8–9 PM, grinding away on my laptop. I was building —and I had a plan.

My goal was to launch Nubi 1.0 and start selling immediately. As a backup, I picked up deliveries to ensure I still had an income. I knew I needed financial stability before taking the leap, so I laid out a plan.

By month 11, I sent in my resignation. I had tested the product with beta users, and it was a hit. It was time to go all in.

Entrepreneurship comes with ups and downs. Can you get back up when you get knocked down? Can you withstand turbulence—or will you break?

For me, failure wasn’t an option. I embraced every challenge and did what I had to do to make it work.

I’ve told this story a number of times, but it really depicts the person that you are.

When Kim and I began dating, she came over on an afternoon where I was buried with work. Being that my schedule is so unpredictable, I felt terrible for making her wait and apologized to her that I just needed a few more hours.

She laughed as she sat on my couch and said that it was fine, yo take my time and that she was going to run to Zara in the mean time and be right back.

Hours passed and when she finally returned, she had actually went to target and bought me pots and pans and a bunch of utensils.

I was stunned because I thought she said she was going to Zara. I was also stunned because I definitely had utensils and stuff in my kitchen but this woman I started dating felt that my kitchen was incomplete and went out of her way and invested in me and my home.

Tbh I was like “What are you doing!? lol” her response was that she wanted to be able to cook for me and my kitchen was missing A LOT. 😂

That simple gesture from Kim depicts exactly the amazing human being she is.

When people preach about how a partner should complete you and empower you, Kim is who they are talking about.

She has invested in me in countless ways and has made me a better man, a better partner, a better entrepreneur and now a better Dog-Dad.
