Gosh it would be so sweet to have my mom come to work on a photo shoot. Hasn’t happened yet, but Brant and Jeannie had the pleasure of embarking on this mother/son renovation project. A run down stone house, transformed into an understated, refined,and restful getaway in the meadows west of Mt. Baker. And good news, you can rent it too! Lucky you ♥️

Meanwhile back in Brooklyn at Katie and Kevin’s apartment…It’s a railroad, the style of apartment that dominate the Greenpoint neighborhood. There’s the kitchen by the rear window and the bedroom at the front. You can also choose to put the bed in the dark connecting space between the two, halfway into a closet to allow space to walk by. It’s the kind of place I could never sort out when I was looking for apartments with roommates. For a couple, it can work. Here, they chose a bedroom by the window. It’s a cozy oasis with warm light bouncing off the brownstones and cascading across the bed in the late afternoon. The plants get good light but need the extra push of a grow light. Albeit small, the space is as inviting and full of character as its two lovely residents💜. NOTE: Kevin was teaching NYC’s youth while we photographed the apartment, and will be poorly photoshopped into an image soon as promised 😂

Sharing a cup of coffee and some good times with one of my favorite human beings . We met as assistants on a very fancy Valentino shoot in NYC about 13 years ago. The look was all red everything, if I remember right. I kinda loved it. I’m sure everything I was wearing was thrifted. We shared a lot of laughs and became fast friends. She’s a ceramicist , a stylist and an activist, and literally the best. This is the cozy ground floor apartment she’s rented for ten years with her equally fantastic partner Kevin. More to come!
