This incredible example of late 17th century iconography. The icon is a visual depiction of the 12 articles of the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed (the Symbol of Faith)—a summary of the core Christian dogmas. Each clause of the prayer is illustrated through complex theological and narrative scenes.
