DJL Studio is an art and design studio in Portland, Oregon.
We offer design, fabrication, consulting, and project management services in the fields of lighting, furniture, interior design, as well as commissioned artwork.
The fabrication shop is officially closed. (Design and Consultation services are still ongoing and available). It's been a fun last 10 years and I'm already missing the smell of sawdust and grinding wheels. I'll be posting some pics of various projects from the last 10-12 years...

Good wood When Portland artist and designer David Laubenthal of DJL Studio would drive to his workshop, he would often notice wood pallets dumped on the curb. He began to collect them.

Ebonized walnut case on a steel base with a 'walnut' patina. The doors are inked veneer and have a burnt appearance.
