Marie Rose Beadwork

Taking a break from beading to work on some shawls that honor Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women/People (MMIW/P). I am working on 20 old style shawls!

For the ribbon setting I decided to use my new Siser cutter to create a template. I am using one inch ribbon and wanted one inch spacing between each of them. I used posterboard for the guide so it’s sturdy. I have to say that this way is so much easier than measuring and marking the fabric. My ribbons have turned out much straighter. I can slide the guide along the edge and glue down all of my ribbons at once. When I get back to ribbon skirt making I’ll be using guides like this from now on.

I don’t always travel for work but when I do I usually bring my beadwork along. Kid free and responsibility free time to bead. I end up staying up way later than I should working on something.

This is my latest project, almost completed! I forgot enough hide to finish the ties. The colors were chosen to match this earring set a did awhile ago It’s my first necklace done in the style. I have only done lanyards before similar to this. I am excited to make more matching sets!
