Meet Cowboy! This sweet pup was rescued in Todos Santos, Mexico in 2025 from a farm along with 11 other puppies. We estimate this sweet boy was born in March of 2025, and he currently weighs around 35 pounds. Cowboy is patiently waiting for his forever family to find him, and is practicing all his new skills to show off when he finally does meet them!
Cowboy is a goofy love bug who loves to give his humans the funniest of looks! He loves to meet new volunteers and doggie friends and can be heavily persuaded to quickly become your best friend with some treats. Cowboy enjoys playing with all his doggie friends at the shelter, and gets along with both and male female pups. He also has experience with young children and has been walked by many different handlers throughout his time at our shelter. This funny boy is always down for an afternoon walk or pool time followed by some belly rubs and cuddles. Cowboy would be a great companion for any family looking to add a medium energy younger pup to their home. Cowboy is currently working on his sit, stay, and other skills at our shelter while he waits for his forever family to find him! So don't hesitate to apply today this adorable boy.

Meet Barbara! This sweet pup was surrendered to our team in La Paz, Mexico in late spring of 2026. ๐We estimate this sweet gal was born in late 2019 and she currently weighs around 6 pounds. Barbara is patiently waiting in foster care in Portland, Oregon for her forever family to find her now after spending a few months at our shelter.๐พ
Our sweet Barbara came to us as an owner surrender in the spring of 2026. Her family couldn't afford to keep her any longer and made the choice to turn her over to our team in La Paz.๐พ After spending a few months at the shelter Barbara made her way to Portland in August, and ever since has been stealing hearts and pets! This playful pup loves to hangout with her foster pupsiblings during the day and taking long couch naps after she has used all her energy. ๐ฅฐDuring her cuddle time she loves to curl up in a bed near her humans, or even better on her humans lap while she gets all the pets during her nap time. Barbara is fully kennel and house trained as well. She gets along with children, cats, and other dogs as well, though when she is adjusting to her new home she can be a little hand shy the first few days. Hiding and crouching away from her humans, however, she has never been aggressive and is not possessive of her family members in any way.๐ This sweet girl is still showing us her full bubbly personality- but funny, social, and playful are all words we would use to describe this adorable pup. Our team cannot wait to see Barbara thriving even more with her new forever family! She is patiently waiting for them to find her, and she is avaible for meet and greets in Portland, Oregon.๐ฅฐ

We are so excited to get a pupdate from Oddie! ๐ฅน
This sweet boy was removed from a farm in Oregon last year and had so many health problems our team didnโt think he would survive ๐However, after six months in foster care, a million medicated baths, and multiple vet visits a week Oddie finally found his people in fall of 2025. ๐พโฅ๏ธ๐
And he was just recently deemed healthy enough and cleared for an eye surgery he desperately needed. โฅ๏ธ
These are his after surgery and groomed photos. He no longer needs eye medications and is living his best doggie life with his new family in the PNW ๐พโฅ๏ธ
Thank you to everyone who supported his journey last year ๐๐

Last week we had some damage done to our shelter due to weather and normal doggie wear and tear. ๐๐ฉ
Our team has been working hard to get donations of material and labor but it becoming more clear we need to hire a worker for the day and buy stronger materials than we can get donated. ๐ถ Our paws estimate this cost for new materials + one day of labor will cost us around 6,000 pesos. ๐
Howeverโฆ. We are currently in the red zone and cannot afford an extra expense this month ๐ข
We are hoping our community can come together and help us raise this money to rebuild the broken and weak spots at our La Paz shelter. ๐
We have been operating for five years now in Baja Sur and accept dogs from all over. Our shelter is home to dogs from Pescadero, Cerritos, La Paz, Todos Santos, and all the surrounding areas.
So please if you can spare just five dollars today to help us purchase some more sturdy materials and a day worker we would be so grateful. ๐ฅน ๐๐๐ถ
We are a registered 501(c)3 in Oregon and these are our donation links our paws are so thankful for your support

It is time once again for us to buy food ๐พ
This has been one of the hardest years thus far in terms of fundraising, transport options, and adoptions.
The only way we are able to feed these pups is by community donations ๐
We are hoping to raise 10,000 pesos for dog food for the next few weeks ๐ Our paws are committed to saving dogs from Todos Santos, La Paz, and all the surrounding areas and we currently have over 30 dogs in our program in Baja. ๐๐พ That is a lot of food each dayโ and we are running low again ๐ญSo if you can help even by donating just five dollars it would go to help feed our pups these next few weeks ๐พ๐
We are a 501(c)3
