Sold // I had this up for months as is on fb marketplace for $300, then dropped to $150, then to $100. So many low ball offers and cancellations. The different excuses people give, I can write a book on. I didn’t want to do my thing on it because it had that original cream finish which we can’t stand to do. We got so frustrated with those people, John said screw it I’ll strip it and you make it beautiful. So, I did!
Classical italian provincial dresser with an elegant design and sturdy built. Features 9 roomy drawers that are in all good condition. Finish was done in a cocoa brown with gray undertones and top stained in a custom rich caramel. Finishes are top coated in a matte sealer. Updated hardware in aged brass knobs, with knurled handles. Doesn’t this look good together? Coco and Ash 😍. I was planning on them going together at first. But then I changed my mind on doing different colors instead. John and I tried to get the french dresser in raw wood, but the original creamy finish wouldn’t come out of the grain. Which is why I decided to paint it. The nightstands kinda the same thing. The single drawer one had the same exact cream finish.
Even though my plans changed, I still love this outcome!
Dresser only available!

Y’all remember these? I had did a light wood finish and they had a white formica tops. Natalie wanted to match these with the mid century broyhill pacemaker dresser I had up. ( All pictures in comments ). John was able to pull off the white formica and thank goodness they had wood under. They both got sanded down again and I was able to get a close stain match to the dresser. Had to do 4 coats of stain, but I got it! Thank you so much Natalie! They look gorgeous in your bedroom!
Can’t wait to see how this one turns out! I had this up for sale as is, got so many low ball offers. Plus, lots of cancellations on picking up and some just quit responding. But, its marketplace so it’s expected.
With all that, John said it was meant for me! So here I am designing it.
I just don’t like the original finish cream ones. Too much work to remove the finish.
Oh well, love me some italian provincials. It’ll be available as soon as we’re done with it!
I started doing this look in 2017. As many of you already know, John is the one who repairs, strips, and preps the furniture. I design, stain, prime, paint, and seal the furniture. Well, John has almost always stripped everything on the furniture before I painted it. Right before I was going to paint it, I thought what if I left it like it was. With all the different woods showing. Just spray a poly sealer over it. So, I did. I loved it 😍
It does take a long time to strip everything. You see when John preps the furniture he doesn’t strip in all the crevices and details. Only if I’m staining them. When I told him I wanted to leave it like that, he tilted his head back like “ oh now I have to go into the details” 😁. Good thing he’s my husband!
Fast forward 8 years or so, I think this may be my go to look now for my pieces. I mean I’ll still paint furniture, just not that much. John is going to be so happy 😄
Unavailable // This duncan phyfe dresser was brought to us by one of our repeat clients! Jesse wanted the dresser done in this faux wood finish by a product I’ve never used. It’s called retique it in pecan. The bottom he wanted a color that would go with the stain along with his little girls room. I suggested this beautiful yellow by Fusion. I did have to tone down the yellow some, because the original was too yellow.
Hardware was painted in a brass color. It came out so beautiful! Thanks again Jesse!
Available!! We found it like this. Leg base was gone, it has been painted brown, and hardware was pulled off. Its 1960s Mid Century Danish inspired Stonehill in the Toledo design. It had wood square pulls before along with a square wood base for the legs. We repaired, stripped it and added some legs. And yes I was able to save original teak wood. I seriously thought I was going to have to paint it!
