Recently, our department received a grant from the Marathon Foundation for $2,000. We were able to get new hose with this grant, and some other tools that are still on order. We’d like to thank Marathon Petroleum for their grant award. We’d also like to thank Peter Welch from The Firefighting Depot for the help ordering our Key Hose. This brings 2020’s grant total to $8,000!
Recently, we received a charitable donation from Chicago/South Bend South Shore Line for $1,000! With that money, we replaced some of our older firefighting hose with new, color coated hose. This is a project we are currently working on, to color coat all of our hoses to each truck they go on. We’d like to thank Chicago/South Bend South Shore Line for their generous donation. We’d also like to thank Peter Welch, our sales rep from The Firefighting Depot, for his help ordering our Key Hose. This brings 2020’s grant total to $6,000!

The incredible stories of bravery that took place on 9/11/01 aren't fiction. They are real, the people are real. Today, we need to learn, remember, and follow. Below is a photo of a letter left behind. FF. Peter Bielfeld, L-42, was seeing the FDNY doctor at the medical office in FDNY Headquarters across the bridge in Brooklyn at the time of the attacks. He was consulting with the doctor regarding a minor medical injury. When the planes struck the towers, he knew the severity of the operation. With out hesitation, he responded. FF Bielfeld's gear was in his Bronx firehouse so he stopped by the nearest house (Engine 10/Ladder 10 across from the WTC) to borrow some spare gear. Before he left the firehouse, he left his personal belongings behind along with this note. FF Bielfeld knew what he was going into, but he went anyway. We will never know exactly how many people are alive today because of FF Bielfeld's dedication. Never forget. Heaven gained some angels that day.
