🐾⚠️ Florida has a wide array of wildlife, including some venomous spiders like Black Widows, or Brown Recluses. Their bites can cause various health concerns. While it is easy to recognize a bite on yourself, it is much more difficult to find on a furry pet. If you suspect your pet may have been bitten, some signs to look out for include excessive licking, whining, or “drunk walking”. When uncertain about what may have caused a bite, it is always best to call the Pet Poison Helpline for additional guidance.

Cat whiskers aren’t just limited to their faces. They also have some on the backs of their front legs. These whiskers help them when climbing trees or hunting prey!

It is important to have a good understanding of your pets' habits. Doing so allows you to recognize abnormalities in your pet's bathroom breaks and behaviors more quickly.

🐾⚠️ Let's prioritize our pets' safety by steering clear of small bones as treats. The bones of chickens and other small animals are hollow and often splinter under pressure. Because of this, they can cause serious harm to pets when chewed or even swallowed. Deciding which bones are safe for your pet varies based on size, breed, etc. So be sure to consult your vet before giving them anything to chew on.

Cats have an additional organ that lets them taste the air! This organ is called the vomeronasal organ or Jacobsons organ. When using this organ, cats open their mouths slightly giving the appearance of a smile.
