Join us this Saturday for Christmas at Lakeland! At 5:00pm the Muskie Tones will lead carols in Ley Chapel, then at 7:00pm in the Bradley Theatre the Choir, Band and Orchestra will present their holiday concert program. The concert will include a combined performance of Handel's "Hallelujah" chorus from Messiah, as well as audience sing-a-long on a medley of Christmas songs. We will also feature new pieces by Lakeland music students Ashley Esser and Paige Pierson. This event is free and open to the public.

We invite you next Tuesday, November 26th, at 11:00am for the Music Department Fall Recital. This event is held in the Bradley Theatre and will feature music majors and minors performing solo repertoire studied during the fall term. The program features music from the Baroque period to the present including both classical works and show tunes. This event is free and open to the public, and provides one convo credit for students.

Lakeland students and faculty are featured in this upcoming event at the Plymouth Arts Center. The event coordinator and emcee is Christina Pringle. Performers include LU students Bryndyn Schroeder guitar, vocals; Elliot Luedke, piano; and Music faculty member Dan Ognavic, piano, violin, as well as Annika Nelson, guitar.

Save the date! We have a number of dates set now for Summer 2025. Lakeland's Music Camp for next summer will run the week of July 27-August 2. We will continue to offer exceptional experiences for young musicians 6-12th grade, at a great value. Registration will open early in the spring semester but we hope you'll put it on your calendar and tell your friends.

Join us this Sunday, October 20th as Lakeland student musicians present our fall concert event. The mid-Fall concert features a variety of instrumental and vocal students. This week we are especially delighted to feature several students from the voice studio of Prof. Emily Alvarez, all of whom will be performing in the Wisconsin NATS Competition on November 1st and 2nd. This concert is free and open to the public.

The Alumni Band will rehearse 10:30-11:15am (band room) and the Alumni Choir meets 11:30am-12:15pm (choir room). The Pub will be open at 10 a.m. Gates for the football game open at 12 p.m., and we’ll be serving beer and seltzers at Taylor Field.
We cannot wait to see you all!

Lakeland's KodΓ‘ly program will be giving its choral concert this evening at 7:30pm in the Bradley Theatre. For those wishing to attend remotely the event will be live-streaming from this page starting about 7:15pm. We look forward to sharing some wonderful music and celebrating 11 Master of Music graduates and 4 OAKE Certificate recipients.

Registration remains open for Lakeland's Music Camp, this summer taking place July 21-27.

Campers develop their musicianship and make life-long friendships. The camp offers students tracks for Band, Choir, Orchestra or Piano as well as music theory classes and several fun elective options including:

String Chamber
Brass Choir
Bucket Brigade
Dance
Show Choir
Composition Basics
Guitar
Beginning Piano
…and more.

Congratulations to our 2024 Master of Music graduates!! These folks have made a long journey together and we were delighted to recognize them today. They will present their capstone research during the MM/KodΓ‘ly workshop on campus this summer. We wish them the best as they continue sharing their music and touching the lives of students through their work.

We invite students, staff, and alumni to join us for a Baccalaureate Concert event this coming Friday, May 10, 6-7pm in the Campus Center. This event will feature student and faculty speakers as well as performances by the Lakeland Choir and Chamber Winds.

This Saturday the Lakeland Choir and University Chamber Orchestra will present their Spring program at 3:00pm in the Bradley Theatre. The program will feature choral works by Christopher Tin, Dan Forest, David Schwoebel, and Moses Hogan, excerpts from Beethoven's 7th symphony as well as Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 featuring faculty member Elisabeth Carper. This event is one convocation credit for students, and is FREE and open to the public.

Join us this Tuesday, April 23 at 7:30pm in the Bradley Theatre for the Lakeland University Symphonic Band's spring program. We look forward to sharing an exciting program including works by Tan Dun, Chen Yi, Roland Barrett, and Darren W Jenkins, and original work by Lakeland Band and Drumline students. Senior recognitions and student awards will also be announced. This event is one convocation credit for students, and is free and open to the public.
