Broad Basis
We were founded on the belief that successful wealth management is best served by combining Our knowledge in financial and tax planning.
Life happens. A call comes in, something's changed, and the real question is whether it moves the needle.
Sometimes the answer is "you're solid, this doesn't change anything." Sometimes it's "let's tweak a few things." Either way, that's a conversation worth having as things come up, not something to wait on until year-end.
Broad question, and the answer starts in the same place for everyone: clarity on where you stand today.
What's your contribution percentage to your 401(k)? Does your employer offer annual raises you can factor in? Is your mortgage going to be paid off by the time you retire? The Social Security Administration also publishes income estimates worth checking.
Once you know where you stand, the next step is understanding your flexibility, especially if you're only contributing enough to get an employer match and have room to do more.
Mortgage rates are rising again, but some buyers may be finding a little more room to navigate the housing market.
The average contract interest rate for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage with a conforming loan balance rose to 6.69%, up from 6.65% the previous week.
That was the highest level since last August.
Even so, purchase mortgage applications rose 6% for the week. One reason may be that more inventory in some markets is giving buyers additional options.
Some sellers also appear more willing to cut prices as the market moves through its typically slower summer season.
Higher borrowing costs still matter. Mortgage rates can affect monthly payments, affordability, and how much buyers feel comfortable spending on a home.
For buyers and sellers, the broader takeaway is that multiple factors shape housing conditions. Rates, inventory, home prices, competition, and timing can all influence the market at once.
Life doesn't always go the way we pictured it. Some people get asked to retire early. Some need to. Others end up working longer than expected.
A strategy built around your goals should be flexible enough to handle those shifts. When something changes, the move is to reassess: does this change the picture in a meaningful way, or not? Then you adjust from there.

If your kids are starting a summer job, why not look into a Custodial Roth account? Talk to your kids about how they can get started with tax-advantaged savings. Whether they put money in the account or you get it started for them with a gift, itβs a good way to start a great habit. For more information or to set up a meeting, drop us a note today!
We can explain the pros and cons of Custodial Roth IRA, and introduce you to some of the unique features of custodial accounts, including when kids can take control of the asset. Also, remember, with a Roth IRA, to qualify for the tax-free and penalty-free withdrawal of earnings, a Roth must meet a 5-year holding requirement and occur after age 59Β½. Tax-free and penalty-free withdrawals can also be taken under certain other circumstances, and the original Roth IRA owner is not required to take minimum annual withdrawals.

You might be paying more in taxes than you need toβand not even realize it.
From investment timing to account selection, small decisions can have a big impact on your total tax bill. Here are five areas to keep in mind this tax season.
A 529 plan is the account most families use to start saving for college. Money goes in, grows tax-free, and comes out tax-free when it's used for education expenses.
But what if your child chooses a trade school, gets scholarships, or skips college altogether?
Thanks to a recent tax law change, unused 529 funds can now be rolled into a Roth IRA, up to $35,000, for the account beneficiary. That means the money doesn't go to waste. It becomes a jumpstart on retirement savings instead, growing tax-free from age 18 all the way to retirement.
A few rules apply around timing and contribution limits, so if this is on your radar, let's talk through the details together.

Starting late doesn't mean starting over, or not starting at all.
Having something set aside, even a few hundred or a few thousand dollars, is valuable. It can cover a chunk of those last couple years of high school expenses or give a student a head start once college begins.
A 529 plan is still a solid route for tax-free growth, and most plans offer investment options that can help manage market risk depending on your comfort level.
If your family has a teenager a couple of years out from college and savings haven't started yet, the move is to have an honest conversation now and set expectations that fit your household's full financial picture.
This question really comes down to your withdrawal rate: how much you take out relative to the size of your savings once retirement starts.
Flexibility around expenses matters here too. What you do today, staying consistent, adjusting early, checking in often, shapes how sustainable that income ends up being later.
