🎄🌴 Phoenix is celebrating Christmas in July! One week in our care and he is already looking better. He is still very unsure of humans but we're giving him plenty of space so he can relax and focus on healing.

Wonder how our cats go from rescue to adoption?

HCMT works with volunteers and community cat caretakers to spay/neuter cats in their areas. Sometimes cats like Duncan are too injured, ill, or just too friendly to re-join their colonies.

With our sister organization, Pittsburgh CAT , we assess friendly felines for socialization and adoptability. If we have the space, after spay/neutering and administering age-appropriate vaccines we look for foster placement with our network of volunteers. Once the cats have recovered and spent time socializing with humans, we work to find them homes!

Duncan is a wonderful playful cat who enjoys people and humans! He was brought to HCMT by a Good Samaritan who believe he was attacked by another animal. After a long recovery, he is ready for a forever home!

⭐️ Donations needed for Phoenix!

HCMT is helping cat from another dire situation. Friends from Cat Crusaders reached out and asked if we could help this guy with really bad open wounds all over his head. After an exam, we believe he may have been attacked by another animal and his wounds became infected. We have cleaned him up, given him some meds, and a safe place to recover. As he heals, we'll be able to better evaluate his needs. In the meantime, he will need regular vet checks and ongoing medication to avoid additional infections. With the hope of an easy recovery, his finders named him Phoenix because they know his transformation will be magical!

Pittsburgh CAT

It may be 80 degrees out, but we know winter will be here before we know it! This morning several volunteers met up to help move 53 coolers where they will be held until we start having shelters made again! Thank you to our amazing volunteers and friends!!!

The Pittsburgh rescue community has lost a dedicated advocate and friend. Donna Munnell Priselac could always be counted on to attend council and borough meetings, always fighting for the humane treatment of feral and community cats. Her passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to animals will be deeply missed.
Rest in peace, Donna.
