Today - I met a new friend. His name is Landon. Landon has Cystic Fibrosis. We ate brunch together, played trucks and I had an opportunity to learn more about the intense daily routine he goes through in order to maintain his health. His routines consists of many different medications, therapies, and hospital visits. If you are not familiar with CF, it is a genetic disorder that causes mucus to build up in the lungs which ultimately leads to severe health problems. The median CF patient lives until age 41.
Today, made me realized how truly blessed I am. Looking at this experience, I was reminded why I do what I do. I came into this experience blind but I can say that I am proud to represent the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as apart of the 50 Finest Class of 2019.
