We at the council of the Eternal Fire hath the highest honor to unveil the incredible black metal act One of Nine to Under Appalachian Skies in the year 2026.

Hailing from deep in the realm of Appalachia itself from a town known as Charlotte in the state of North Carolina, they will honor us all with their dark melodic hymns at the glorious Thunderbird Music Hall in the capital of Appalachia itself; our great City of Steel.

They blessed all across the realm with their recent offering ‘Dawn of the Iron Sorrow’ to great acclaim with its dark atmospheric ambience, alongside its magnificent, melodic, and vicious sonic conjurations.

May their darkness surround the Appalachian lands amongst our eternal flame this coming autumn!

We are thrilled to announce our friends in the Louisville, KY melodic black/death metal act Volcandra to Under Appalachian Skies 2026!

They’ve been making a name for themselves over the past couple years on the road and with their studio material. Showcasing an impressive blend of black/death metal with infectious melodies and thunderous ferocity. Their newest offering ‘Beyond the Will of Mortals’ is something truly special and cemented our need to have them on this roster!

They have a commanding live presence that is perfect for Under Appalachian Skies and we cannot wait for all of you to experience them there!

We are excited to announce the remarkable up and coming central PA black metal act Profane Elegy to Under Appalachian Skies 2026!

We’ve wanted to bring them over this way for some time. Then, their new album Herezjarcha made quite the impression with their distinctly expansive but menacing black metal sound with a tinge of blackened death to add even more intensity.

This is an act that you MUST experience for yourselves as they will absolutely leave their mark with their appearance this coming fall!

We are thrilled to reveal that we will be bringing the mesmerizing up and coming Nashville, TN based blackened post metal act Vaelravyn to Under Appalachian Skies 2026!

They reached out to us in 2025 when we unveiled last year’s roster to consider them for future appearances and they absolutely blew me way with their extraordinary dynamic sound. Bringing strong melodic sensibility to a raw, atmospheric, and punishing blackened assault.

They aren’t afraid to take the music where it needs to go to create the perfect atmosphere and will be one of the most unique acts on the roster!

We are very excited to announce that we are having the rising Pittsburgh based atmospheric black metal act Calamity Vessel as the ones kicking off Under Appalachian Skies 2026.

They’re as intense as they are whimsical and are becoming one of southwestern PA’s finest black metal projects despite just appearing onto the scene over the past year or so.

Their expansive, dynamic compositions will entrance you in their live experience that you absolutely will not want to miss!

We are stoked to unveil that we are adding our homies in Mo’ynoq, as well as Valletta, onto this already strong Unholy Altar bill! We haven’t hosted Mo’ynoq since 2022 at Black Forge and are beyond excited to have them return on a bill as stacked as this! Tickets for this intimate DIY show are already moving and expect this to continue with these two heaters on it!

The time has finally come. We are beyond proud to announce that we will be bringing Under Appalachian Skies back for our 2026 edition! We’ve been working on this since October 2025 and cannot wait to share the full roster with you very soon! Not to mention that we will be bringing this to the city for the first time at the esteemed Thunderbird Music Hall! We will start unveil the 7 acts starting Friday, April 24th each day from the bottom of the roster to the headliner. Finally, we will reveal the artwork and put up live tickets on Friday May 1st! We have an event page up for this to RSVP to and will update it with all future drops as they appear! We’re confident you won’t be disappointed with what we have prepared!
