I did it.

After countless late nights, rewrites, doubts, breakthroughs, and more coffee than I’d like to admit. I’ve officially finished my manuscript.

On 10/14/24, I started writing this story.

486 days.

144,869 words.

Now its real.

This story has challenged me and taught me more about commitment than I ever expected. There were moments I wasn’t sure I’d make it to the end but I kept going.

I crafted a dark fantasy about power, sacrifice, belonging, and protecting the life you fight to build.

Im so excited to share more with you all soon.

THE FINISH LINE IS OFFICIALLY IN SIGHT!

​I just had one of those massive lightbulb moments! I sat down and officially blocked out the rest of my book! We are looking at a total of Twenty chapters of The Hermit of Willow Crest!

​I am only ONE chapter away from finishing my rewrite. After that, only six chapters left to write until the book is complete!

​I can’t even describe how good it feels to have the story blocked out. I never thought I was this close to completing it. I am so excited to bring this story to its conclusion.

The weight of the world is extra crushing lately.

I dont know if the sun and the moon have moved closer to gaze at me like I do at them.

Or if my body is finally breaking.

Its knocked me down, and broken me more time than I can count.

But i always get back up.

All I know is to keep moving forward.

I will not stop.

No matter how unbearable the weight becomes.

Even if it shatters my legs and pins me to the ground.

I will crawl out from under it.

I will tear off all my nails as i claw into the earth to drag myself forward.

Nothing will stop me.

No matter how heavy.

No matter how exhausted I am.

I keep going.

I released the brand-new version of Chapter One, and the first review came in and I'm genuinly still trying to process that its about something i wrote.

They wrote:

“This feels like the love child of Yellowjackets, Annihilation, and Succession.

Rich-bitch corporate raider walks into a creepy pagan eco-cult town and immediately starts a war she doesn't understand yet? I'm strapped in for the whole ride.

This is one of the strongest opening chapters I’ve read from an indie in forever. Stella is iconic, the mystery is dripping, and the stakes feel personal and huge at the same time.”

Im taking the comparisons as a huge compliment, even though I’ve never watched any of those shows. I'l have to add them to my to my list. 😅

Also when I say this is the third rewrite, I mean this is the third "published" rewrite.
Unofficially? Let’s not talk about the graveyard of drafts I’ve buried like a raccoon hiding snacks.

Seeing someone connect with Stella’s entrance into Willow Crest like this makes every meltdown, rewrite, and what am I even doing? moment worth it.

Today I uploaded the third version of Chapter One to Wattpad. This chapter has gone through a lot of growth, and I’m really proud of where it landed.

SNEAK PEAK ALERT!

I’ve been hard at work lately, well, Ace’s Book Cover Design has, putting the finishing touches on the formatting for my upcoming book, The Hermit of Willow Crest!

I’m absolutely loving how it’s coming together with all the custom design elements. One of my favorite parts? Each character has their own unique scene breaks so you’ll always know whose perspective you’re stepping into. It’s a small detail that adds so much life to the pages!

We’re getting so close to sharing the full story with you all!

One year ago today, I started writing my book! 🤯

​What began as a personal dare just to prove I could stay committed to something big has completely transformed.

​Somewhere along the way, I went from rushing to "finish" it to realizing I needed to let it breathe. Now, I'm deep-diving into the world and its lore, fleshing out every corner, and building a foundation that makes me truly love what this story has become.

​This book is evolving into something truly beautiful, and I am obsessed with it! I love this world and can't wait to keep building it and to finally share it, in its entirety, with you!

A quick update, i am just a couple chapters away from finishing the rewrite of my book! (What i had written anyway.) I am also working on a new opening to my book, and will be updating the chapters i have posted on my wattpad soon. Also have a bit of writing i did that isnt related to my book!

We Could Be Trees

We watch the trees release their leaves without shame, and wonder why we cannot do the same. Every year the seasons change, and every year the trees drop their guard and stand barren in the cold. We find beauty in their fall, as they shift and become something new. When we look at them, we don’t see weakness. We don’t judge them for fading or changing. We trust they will rise again in spring, full of life.

But when it comes to ourselves, we cling to our leaves. We carry shame for letting go, guilt for needing rest, fear of standing bare even for a season. What we see as weakness or failure in ourselves, we see as natural and necessary in the trees. We admire their resilience, their renewal, their courage to let go, and we forget that the same is possible for us.

We could be trees, if only we let ourselves. We could shed the weight of our past, release what no longer serves us, one leaf at a time, and stand bare without shame, proud of the changes that shape us. We could trust that, just like the trees, we too can return stronger, greener, and more alive than before.

Perhaps the only thing separating us from the trees is the courage to trust our own seasons.
