Dnapps Productions had a great time at Living Dead Weekend helping legendary filmmakers Tony Buba and John Rice capture video/photo content while they signed autographs! This was my first time attending this event and glad I could experience it before the Monroeville Mall gets demolished next year! It’s incredible to see the fandom and excitement for these classic horror films! Fun fact: I worked at the Monroeville Mall in high school but have never seen a crowd this size hyped up for this shopping mall since the mid 90s! Thanks to Tony and John for allowing me to shoot a cinema verite style documentary while they signed autographs throughout the day! I’m looking forward to more of these events and opportunities to document them with my camera!

Earlier today I ventured to Carnegie Coffee Company to meet a work colleague and have a conversation about what’s been happening in our worlds. It felt great to discuss current trends in business and also catch up on other interesting things happening outside of work. I’m glad I took the time to meet and as a result left the meeting feeling inspired. Afterwards I spotted a cool mural and felt it was worth posing in front of. I have filmed a ton of magicians at Liberty Magic over the years so I could relate to finding magic. Today the magic was found through conversations over coffee! I’m looking forward to finding magic in other spots around Pittsburgh and more sunny day meetups!

Over the past few years you may have spotted me at Three Rivers Arts Festival selling my abstract photography in the Artist Market. This year, I opted to assist the The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust with my artistic skills by capturing drone shots, video and photography. The one major advantage I bring to this gig is already having 4 years of prior knowledge and experience working as an artist at the festival. I know the setups and how to best capture/showcase the artists! The great thing about this year is everything is now centered around Arts Landing which helps provide a great backdrop for epic drone shots! I’m looking forward to capturing more content this weekend at the Three Rivers Arts Festival! If you’re there on Saturday, find me throughout the day documenting the entirety of the event!

If you’re a business or agency in need of award winning video, photography or drone content, contact my Dnapps Productions team today! We would love to help bring your next idea to life!

Yesterday I attended another great Speed Networking event at Trace Brewery hosted by The American Marketing Association Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Young Professionals! What I liked most about this event is I was able to network and spark conversations with people outside of the film/video/advertising industry. We all sat at tables and were provided with a set of questions to ask one another. Every 5 minutes we would rotate to a new set of people. This gave us the opportunity to talk to everyone at the event in a 2 hour window of time.

Overall I had a really good time just talking to people and learning more about what they do. I’m looking forward to attending more networking events this summer and making new connections out in the real world! Excited to also share more about my video/photo business Dnapps Productions !

I had a great time today meeting my friend Steven Sims for coffee at Happenstance Cafe and catching up on the film/video business!! As a solo entrepreneur I love getting out of my space for a few hours to bounce ideas and connect with others in the industry. Steve and I go way back to our time at RMU. We both make it a point to stay up with each other’s lives and find ways we can help each other.

We are looking forward to collaborating on more creative projects this summer (just like the days when we were making classic videos in Tony Buba’s television production class at RMU)! We are both actively pushing our creative thinking on independent projects and can’t wait to share that work with the world!

I hope to meet more likeminded film/video/marketing people in this community and continue to build new connections that lead to new opportunities!!

Had a great time at the Women in Film and Media Pittsburgh Speed Networking event at This Is Red. This is one of my favorite networking events because you get the opportunity to meet a lot of people in a very short amount of time. I met a ton of new people and introduced them to my company Dnapps Productions . I also connected with a lot of people that I have known over the years and utilized this time to catch up! I hope these new connections lead to opportunities over the summer and can continue to be involved with exciting film/video/photography projects! Thanks to my friend Krystle Grandy for inviting me and can’t wait until the next one!

Had a great time today checking out Pittsburgh Musical Theater’s “Dear Evan Hansen” at the Gargaro Theater! Earlier this year I helped capture all of the promotional photography and edit the television/online commercial. I always enjoy going to see the performances so then I can see the final result from preproduction/marketing to the final result on stage. My role as photographer/video producer is a small part but makes a huge difference in getting people interested to go see the show! The theater today was packed out and the performers were outstanding! It was so good that the woman next to me was literally crying during the emotional parts of this musical. If you haven’t seen the musical yet, please make sure you go see it this upcoming week! Thanks to PMT for the opportunity to collaborate and can’t wait until our next project!

If you’re a business, agency or performing arts organization in need of award winning video content/photography, contact my Dnapps Productions team today!! We would love to help bring your next idea to life!

A few weeks ago I had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with and at .agency on a project where we followed a Giant buggy around the city. My task was to capture drone video/photo while the main production team worked the ground level shots. We focused on capturing as much content as we could based on real life interactions with people along the route. I loved working with this team because I got the opportunity to showcase my quick thinking/production skills. I used to work on these kinds of creative executions all the time over the 10 years employed at a Pittsburgh agency. As an independent drone pilot/video producer, I’m glad to have offered my expertise to their project through my years of experience in the agency world!

Thanks to the CunningFolkFilms/NFM team for trusting me to grab the drone shots needed to enhance the story of the Giant Buggy traveling through our beautiful city! Can’t wait until the next project!

Had a great time attending Mackenzie Smith ‘s The Creator Economy Roundtable event at Iron City Distilling . Mackenzie and I first met many years ago when we were both working at the Pittsburgh advertising agency, MARC USA, and have stayed in touch since that time. The one thing I enjoy about the events Mackenzie hosts is the wealth of knowledge gained through the panel discussions. I work mainly in the space of creating the product but I’m also very interested in learning the digital marketing perspective. This panel discussion also gave me insight into people who actually make their living as content creators/influencers. The one thing I’ve learned about producing content for social media is the deliverable is constantly changing and I have to constantly keep up with the trends. I also got the opportunity to meet new people and learn how we could collaborate on future projects! I’m looking forward to more events like this one and can’t wait to apply what I learned to an upcoming project!

Special thanks to for offering to snap this photo of me and Mackenzie at the event!

This past Friday DNAPPS Productions had the amazing opportunity to capture footage at the Pitt Block Party at the brand new Arts Landing for the . This event was held on Day 2 of the NFL Draft which was hosted right here in Pittsburgh! The weather was perfect that day for a party and glad I could help capture the excitement of people visiting Arts Landing for the first time! I also enjoyed capturing 360 video content with my insta360 X5 camera. There’s a lot of fun camera tricks you can create with a 360 camera and Arts Landing has a lot of interesting sculptures to utilize for shots. After the block party, I walked down to the Draft to see what it was all about. To me, it felt like any other festival but this one was way more organized. I felt like I was walking into a mini city or like when you walk into an amusement park to see an attraction. It was just a great atmosphere and glad I could experience it in my hometown. I am thankful for the opportunities the NFL Draft provided me as an independent video/photo company. Many businesses/organizations in the city needed to capitalize on this historic event and required people like myself to assist! As always, I’m flexible and was able to adapt to whatever last minute task was required. I’m glad I played a role in documenting various NFL Draft related events and can’t wait until my next collaboration!

Special thanks to the Cultural Trust for bringing me on to assist them on these projects during NFL Draft week!
