Whew… watched Straw by Tyler Perry on Netflix last night and listen — that movie took me through it 😮‍💨🔥

So much drama, tough choices, and those “what would YOU do?” moments. Tyler Perry really knows how to make you feel all the feels and think a little deeper.

It had me reflecting… sometimes it’s not the big blow-up, but that last straw that really shifts everything. That moment when you realize you can’t keep doing things the same way, and honestly, that can be the start of something powerful.

If you’ve hit a breaking point lately, give yourself some grace. That moment might just be your breakthrough.

Anybody else watched Straw yet? Let’s talk about it 👀

Ever Find Yourself Snacking When You’re Not Even Hungry? Try This.

You’re juggling work, kids, home life—and somewhere between the laundry and the emails, you’re in the pantry again.
Not out of hunger, but out of habit… or stress… or just feeling off.

I get it. That’s why I use this tool: P.A.U.S.E.
(It’s not about restriction—it’s about reflection.)

💜 P – Pause: Put the snack down and take a breath.
💚 A – Assess: What are you really feeling right now?
💜 U – Understand: Is it actual hunger or just a moment of overwhelm?
💚 S – Shift: Try something supportive—walk, journal, stretch.
💜 E – Eat (if needed): If you’re hungry, eat. Nourish your body mindfully.

This is about tuning in—not shaming yourself.
Give yourself permission to pause and check in.
Your needs matter. Your peace matters. And so does your nourishment.

💚

I’ve been carrying a lot lately.

At work, at home, in my head—it feels like I’m constantly in motion, wearing too many hats and trying to meet every expectation. And no matter how much I give, it still sometimes feels like it’s not enough.

Truth is, I’ve been here before. I’ve had to make the hard decision to walk away from a job that was draining me. Not because I wasn’t good at it. Not because I didn’t care. But because I was drowning under the weight of unrealistic demands, and my mental health was quietly falling apart.

That experience changed me. It taught me that I’m not a machine. That “pushing through” isn’t always a badge of honor. And that choosing myself—my peace, my energy, my sanity—isn’t weakness. It’s survival.

Right now, I’m still in the middle of it. Still showing up. Still giving. But I’m learning to listen to myself more. To check in. To give myself permission to say, “I’m not okay today.” To let that be enough.

If you’re feeling like you’re drowning in all you’re trying to hold together—I see you. You’re not alone. And you don’t have to pretend to be okay when you’re not.

Your best is enough. And when it’s not, you still are.

Good morning Beautiful,
Let’s Talk Emotional Eating (Because You Deserve Peace, Too)

Mother’s Day is around the corner, and while everyone’s celebrating you, I know it’s easy to keep pouring out for others—and forget to check in with yourself.

Ever find yourself in front of the fridge, not even sure why? That might be emotional eating talking. One powerful tool I learned from GirlTrek’s Self-Care School this week is the H.A.L.T. check-in:

H – Hungry: When’s the last time you ate a real meal?
A – Angry: Are you feeling agitated or overwhelmed?
L – Lonely: Maybe you’re craving connection, not food.
T – Tired: Could rest be the real remedy?

This isn’t about guilt—it’s about grace. Take a moment before the snack and ask what your heart really needs.

You are worthy of the same care you give so freely.
Happy (early) Mother’s Day. Keep going, sis. You got this!

So many new faces on my page😍 let me introduce myself 😁 My name is Erica and I am married to my high school sweetheart 💍and I am 41 years old. My current occupation is a Community Manager. I am a published author. I have 3 amazing children, a dog and some plants to care for.

I worked for one of the largest Low Income Public Housing Authorities here in Pittsburgh for 7 years. I was a Property Manager, typical "good paying job". Yeah, but I was all stressed out to get that paycheck where someone else got to tell me what I was worth. 😏

I got tired of the stress the job was putting on my health. I suffered from obesity, high blood pressure, migraines, anxiety, and depression. A little over 5 years ago I had to resign from that job I loved to take care of me.

I was so depressed I didn’t want to leave the house. I tried an MLM because I was terrified to work for anyone again and I could do it behind the computer screen. I tried working for a non profit. I tried being a small business owner. I tried a company where management was out of the city. I learned a lot through this process of elimination.

It came down to connections with people and going with my gut to hop back into corporate America. I hop back a year ago and haven’t looked back. My current job is like a culmination of them all and I love it. ✨

Moral of the story despite my fear, I didn’t get stuck. I wasn’t afraid to say this is not a good fit for me. I moved forward and created a stress free work environment for myself.

I don’t know who needs to her this. I know how stressful anticipating your weekend is coming to an end and dreading tomorrow is Monday. Don’t get complacent. Stress will kill you and they will move right along to the next new hire. Make that tough decision and Do what is best for you! 😘
