If parents want to give their children a gift, the best thing they can do is to teach their children to love challenges, be intrigued by mistakes, enjoy effort, and keep on learning. That way, their children don’t have to be slaves or praise. They will have a lifelong way to build and repair their own confidence.

A true leader is the one who strives for the success of others. The job as a leader is to provide the opportunities for success to happen. In the end, the leader who strives for the success of others will receive more in return than those who focus on their own success.
Those that do serve are successful in the long run: because of their words, because of their actions, because of their results.

Servant leaders intent is purely and simply to serve others—coworkers, customers, partners, communities. Servant leaders are motivated by caring and the agenda they seek is mutual benefit: ‘I want to win—but it is even more important to me that you win.
True leaders work right alongside the people they lead in order to get to know and care about the people they are leading. Working with people allows leaders to lift and inspire their team.

Being adaptable is an excellent skill that one can acquire.
Enjoying success requires the ability to adapt. Only by being open to change will you have a true opportunity to get the most from your talent.
We learn flexibility and adaptability.

Getting ahead and putting others first go hand in hand. You can achieve more and lead a successful organization while putting others first. In fact, if you want to make it to the top and stay there, servanthood is the key.
You’ve got to love your people more than your position. That’s what servanthood is all about—putting the needs of your people before your own aspirations.

Servant leaders actively listen to the needs of the staff and organization and help support them in their decision making. Many managers and leaders act as though they are listening to their teams when they may be focused on their own agenda.
A servant leader may aim to share power with others and encourage the development and growth of others.

Adaptability proves that innovation is important but not enough. Strategy, branding, marketing and operations are all useful, but insufficient. And highlights that the ability to adapt smarter and faster than the situation changes is what makes the powerful difference between adapting to cope and adapting to win.

You don’t have to have a college degree to serve…You don’t have to know Einstein’s theory of relativity to serve…You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love. And you can be that servant. That’s a new definition of greatness...it means that everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.

There are two kinds of people: those who do the work and those who take the credit. Always be in the first group, focus on results and not recognition. There is no limit to what you can get done if you don’t care who gets credit for it.
