‼️ ✈️ NASA Flyover, Fan Experience Zone Head to Pittsburgh

🏈 NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration is showcasing American leadership in aeronautics and pushing boundaries through technology development to place proven capabilities in the hands of industry, from the Steel City to the Moon. As part of its new Inspiration Tour, NASA’s first official NFL flyover is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. the Atlanta Falcons game.

At the game, the agency also will engage with fans at the NASA Experience Zone, featuring a meet-and-greet with NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, a Pennsylvania native, and Anthony Vareha, NASA flight director and Pittsburgh native.

The NASA Experience Zone, located outside the stadium from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT, complements the NASA flyover and connects attendees with the people, technologies, and organizations that drive American leadership in space.

Isaacman and Vareha also will be available for media interviews at 10:15 a.m. To arrange interviews or RSVP for the media availability, please contact Kristen Parker at: [email protected] or 216-990-4386.

Participating in NASA’s first NFL flyover are T-38 Talons from NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. The Talons are twin-engine supersonic jet trainers used by the agency in support of astronaut space flight readiness training. The lead pilot for this mission is Andrew Price, a NASA research pilot and U.S. Navy combat veteran.

The Talons demonstrate a bridge between NASA’s aeronautics and space portfolios, paying tribute to the first “A” in NASA. Aeronautics remains central to the agency’s identity, with renewed investment in flight testing, the X-59, hypersonics, autonomy, advanced propulsion, and a broader X-plane portfolio.

As a flight director at NASA's Mission Control Center, Vareha has spent more than 8,000 hours operating spacecraft in low Earth orbit and beyond. His primary duty is the safe operation of the International Space Station as he leads a multi-national team to execute the mission of humanity's greatest scientific and exploration asset in space.
