Bio:
Ether Rising is the current iteration of musicians that have been playing together in the Pittsburgh area for over 25 years. (Christine Sacramento on guitars, Anthony LaCava on bass, James Perry on drums, and Tanya Kavalkovich on violin).
There have been several different line-ups over the years, thus different names for each band/project.
The original band was The Garden, with vocalist Stephen Marlette. It formed in 1985 & was known as Pittsburgh's "first Goth Band."
Later, we had a female vocalist (Patricia Wake) and performed under the name Between the Waters. That line-up had more of a cross-over sound (alternative adult contemporary fused with a dark ethereal vibe).
Anthony LaCava also played in Ground Zero (post-punk in the early ‘80s).
James Perry also played in White Wreckage (hardcore), Six Gun Jury (alternative), and Side Orders (alternative folksy-ethereal).
Tanya Kavalkovich also played in Underflowers (ethereal goth), Company of Knaves (influenced by Fairport Convention), Isabelle (shoegaze instrumental), EQ (Electronic Quartet), and Side Orders.
Ether Rising is the result of the desire to continue creating heartfelt music in the absence of a vocalist, fusing our various influences to form something that overlaps genres.
