💚 Building Skills, Strengthening Support 💚

Last week, thanks to funding from the Staunton Farm Foundation, Devereux TCV Community Services hosted a Mental Health First Aid training in partnership with Best of the Batch Foundation team. The training was led by the Jana Marie Foundation, providing valuable tools and insights to better support individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

We are grateful for the opportunity to invest in our team and community—equipping more people with the knowledge and confidence to recognize, respond to, and support mental health needs.

🌱 Growing Together in Our Day Academy Garden! 🌱

Ms. Heather and Mr. Scott’s classes had a wonderful afternoon getting their hands dirty and helping plant vegetables in our school garden! After lunch, students worked together to plant tomatoes, red and yellow peppers, cucumbers, and red beets.

It was a great opportunity for hands-on learning, teamwork, and connecting with nature—and we can’t wait to watch everything grow in the weeks ahead! 🌿

💙 A Very Sweet Celebration at Our Day Academy! 💗

On May 22, our Day Academy came together to celebrate a very special moment for Ms. Marquelle with a gender reveal gathering full of excitement and joy.
We are thrilled to share that she is expecting a baby girl! 🎀

From the smiles to the shared anticipation, it was a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate this exciting milestone. Moments like these remind us of the strong sense of connection and support that makes our Devereux TCV family so special.

Milisenth became a therapeutic home provider with Devereux Arizona in 2022. A few months later, she welcomed Donna, an adult enrolled in ’s program, into her home. As their bond grew, Milisenth wanted to make their relationship permanent, and in 2025, she was granted guardianship of Donna. https://ow.ly/XeYL50Z5EQY

At Devereux TCV, our Social Rehabilitation programs help individuals build confidence, strengthen life skills, and form meaningful relationships—because recovery is about more than treatment, it’s about connection, purpose, and belonging.

Through community-based support, individuals gain the tools they need to live more independently while staying connected to others in meaningful ways.

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we’re reminded that support and connection matter every day—not just in May. Together, we can continue building communities where everyone feels seen, supported, and valued.
