Shriners International has been informed of a phishing email that targets Shrine Nobles with a false Membership Suspension Notice. This email appears to have been sent by Shriners International, but is a fraudulent email. Please do not click on any links or take any action outlined in the email, and please inform your nobility in the event that they have received this email as well. A copy of the email has been included below, along with some tips to help spot fraudulent emails.

Two Children With Severe Burns Flown From Ukraine To Shriners Children's Hospital In Boston Two Ukrainian children with severe burns are now at one of Boston's top hospitals.

East Alabama Shrine Club will be having their Country Cash event on Saturday May 7th. Food choices will be Shrimp and crab meat. pot roast or chicken fingers. Desserts are Bourbon Street pecan pie, Cheesecake, Carrot cake Chocolate cake, Red velvet cake and Caramel cake.

On Saturday night, a great time was had by all at the St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl and even raised some money for the Zamora transportation fund. Thanks to the Convertible and the Wheelz Units putting up $100 each to the transportation fund in return for a song, we even got to hear our own Potentate Charley Pope sing karaoke! Charley was even able to recruit a few back-up singers for his performances. Lots of food, drinks, karaoke, dancing, fellowship, and fun at this event. Thank you to the Units hosting the bars and the Dixie Shrine Center for this fun event.

Friday night kicked off the 2022 Paper Sale campaign raising money for the hospital. Following the meal, Illustrious Sir Greg Gregerson, P.P. and Assistant Raban Larry Carr, both on the hospital board, spoke about the Greenville and Mexico City hospitals. Units and Nobles presented donations totaling more than $5700. Paper sale donation forms for the plaques/decals are available by contacting the office. Thank you Birmingham Metro York Rite for hosting this event.

Obituary for Richard Johnson
Johnson, Richard A., age 70, of Chelsea, passed away on March 7, 2022. The visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Bolton Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Alan Kuykendall officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Gardens. Bolton Funeral Home is directing.
Mr. Johnson previously worked at Winn Dixie for 25 years, followed by another 24 years at the Piggly Wiggly Alabama Warehouse. He was very active in the community including the Masonic Lodge, Chelsea 886, a Zamora Shriner representing on the Divan as High Priest and Prophet. He loved his family most of all, followed by Alabama football, camping, golfing, fishing, and dove hunting.
Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his parents: Louis J. and Letitia Marie Johnson; and son: Christopher Johnson. He is survived by his wife: Diane Johnson; daughters: Jennifer Owen and Alyson Roberts; brothers: Stephen Johnson (Mary), David Johnson (Kathy), and Paul Johnson (Dana); grandchildren: Cati Aloia, Cobi Aloia, and Connor Roberts; mother-in-law: Martha Smith; brothers-in-law: Allan Smith (Kathy) and Greg Smith (Teresa); and a number of nieces and nephews.
It is with great sadness that we must report that High Priest and Prophet Richard Johnson passed away moments ago. Please remember his wife Dianne and daughters Alyson and Jennifer in your prayers. We will pass along information for services as we know them.
