I am one of your vendors this year- Taylor Homestead Soap. I made a YouTube video of me making paw soap for this event and discussing the facts about the lack of adoptions for black dogs. Would it be ok if I linked this particular video to your FB page? Thank you.

www.Charlotteblackdogs.com What is Black Dog Syndrome? Black dogs are frequently the last to be adopted and the first to be euthanized.

"Paws in the Park" is one of the largest dog events in the Charlotte area hosted by Charlotte Black Dogs, it is held in April in the beautiful Pineville Lake Park in Pineville. Charlotte Black Dogs is a 501c3 and we work with rescue groups and animal shelters to promote adoptions and bring awareness to Black Dog Syndrome. "Paws in the Park" is April 2, 2022...a great place to show support to Charlotte Black Dogs & ALL the rescues/shelters attending.🐾

February is Black Dog Syndrome Awareness Month!

Did you know-black dogs have the lowest adoption rate and the highest euthanasia rate than any other color dog in the shelter?

There are many reasons, but these are the Top 2
1. Folklore and pop culture has, many times, depicted black dogs in a negative way that may have subconsciously affected how they’re viewed by potential adopters. In stories, books, and movies where a dangerous dog is depicted, that dog is very often black.

2. They do not photograph well. In dimly lit kennels, black dogs naturally tend to stand out less than their lighter canine brothers and sisters.

Charlotte Black Dogs founded in 2013 is kicking Black Dog Syndrome to the curb!
To date, 1207 dogs have found forever homes thru our yearly event "Paws in the Park".
You can help too! Like & share our pages and events, adopt or foster a black dog or make a small donation thru our website. www.Charlotteblackdogs.com 🐾
