On June 15, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed a bill incorporating the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), making it the first American youth organization to receive a federal charter. This landmark recognition gave the BSA special legal status and highlighted its national importance and commitment to youth development.

The BSA was granted a Title 36 congressional charter, a distinction reserved for select patriotic and national organizations. Title 36 of the U.S. Code recognizes groups that have made significant contributions to American society, particularly in service, education, or community development. A federal charter does not provide government funding or control but serves as a mark of prestige and national significance.

Other notable organizations that have received Title 36 charters include the American National Red Cross (1905), The American Legion (1919), the Girl Scouts of the United States of America (1950), Boys & Girls Clubs of America (1956), Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (1958), and Little League Baseball, Inc. (1964). These organizations, like the BSA, have had enduring impact on American society and continue to be recognized for their service and dedication to the community.

👋 Hello Pack Families!

Following up on our recent update about Zeke's recovery from his injuries in Mozambique—it is time to put our plan into action! Let's show Zeke and his family our support and let them know his pack is cheering him on. 💛

Here are the details for how we are rallying together:

🗓️ WHEN & WHERE: This Thursday at 6:30 PM at the pavilion at Real Church.

🖍️ CARD MAKING: We will be making get-well cards together! The pack will provide some materials, but please bring any extra supplies you have at home (construction paper, blank cards, markers, stickers, etc.). Scouts are also highly encouraged to bring pre-colored pictures or artwork from home to include.

🎁 CARE PACKAGE COLLECTION: Zeke could be restricted to indoor activities this summer while he heals, so we want to keep him entertained! We are collecting:

🎮 Nintendo Switch Games: Any games your family no longer plays.

🧱 LEGO Sets: Any unused sets sitting around waiting to be built.

🏕️ Camping Supplies: To give him something to look forward to using once he is fully recovered and back outdoors!

(Families are also more than welcome to contribute in any other ways they might find meaningful!)

Thank you all for coming together to support one of our own during a tough time. We look forward to seeing you this Thursday! 🐻🏕️

An unfortunate incident has befallen one of our scouts who recently crossed over from Wolf to Bear. While on a mission trip to Mozambique, Zeke was sleep walking and was attacked by dogs. He has been through surgery and although he was in the ICU, we understand he is stable, coherent, able to speak, and is handling the situation well. Zeke’s mother, Natalie, was the den leader for our Tiger den last year so many of us know them well. We are praying for a quick recovery and safe return home.

We are planning on putting together a care package to deliver to Zeke when he’s able to return home. If you’re curious about how you can help, please message us or text Chris at 419-569-7460

For our meetings at Real Church, please plan to park in the red bordered area and proceed down the path of the black arrow. The event center will be our entry point. Please do not attempt to use any other entrances. If conditions are right, we plan to use the Pavilion one Monday. It is to the right of the building and is directly accessible from the parking area.
