This Sunday is Yin Yoga at Recharge Bodywork! Yin yoga is a beautiful practice working to quiet the mind and dig deep into our connective tissue. You know the stuff that makes everything slide and glide in the body in all of the right ways. When we say everything is connected, we really mean it. Using all of the props, this 90 minutes of uninterrupted time for the body allows you to sink in and reconnect with your body. Yin yoga uses the balancing forces of compression and tension to slowly unwind the body. You don’t want to miss it! Class size is limited to 3 people. Bring a yoga mat if you have one, but all other props are provided. Reach out with any questions or register by clicking on the link in my bio.

✨SO HUM✨ So Hum is a phrase comprised of two Sanskrit words, so and hum.

The translation of So Hum is β€œI Am That.” Many Vedic scholars have interpreted the β€œThat” in the mantra to represent the Universe, and it is now widely understood that the So Hum mantra symbolizes the fact that we are all connected to the universal energy that is constantly supporting and nourishing us in the ways we need and desire. It falls into the same concept as β€œoneness,” or β€œI am one with the Universe and all of creation.”

The idea of being one with the Universe and constantly supported, offers feelings of safety, protection, and unconditional support. When you’re seeking support, love, or protection, the So Hum mantra may be a great fit for your meditation.

I started preparing my garden for the season today, and what did I find but two little spinach plants returning from last fall. Spinach is a hardy plant. It can survive temperatures as low as 20 degrees. I did not winterize these plants. I simply left them at the end of the season last year. After such a prolonged and extremely frosty winter with lots of snow, I did not have a lot of hope that any spinach plants would return. How wrong I was. In a world of sorrow and pain, be the spinach. Be resilient and hardy. Even if you need to go dormant for a while, it’s ok, you can find your strength again.

This is why we need to foster this resilience in ourselves. Learning when to forge ahead and when to take a break. When to ask for help and when to lend a hand. Be the spinach. The current state of affairs is going to be long slough. AND remember to take care of each.
