Not the peace that comes from everything being resolved, mine isn’t.
The peace that comes from not needing it to be resolved today for me to be okay right now.
I’ve heard people describe healing as a finish line.
For me, it’s looked more like this: a quiet morning, a face I recognize in the mirror, one decision made without asking anyone’s permission first.
Peace isn’t the reward at the end.
It’s something you can put on today.
And for the record. I love a good road trip 💛

The story is partially shared because how do you share every detail.
You gave the marriage all you had, and more, and it still wasn’t enough. And now it’s over.
That leaves you sitting in a lonely place to be with all the memories of what were, what are, and what will never be.
You’re doing all the “healing things” and it still hurts like crazy.
You’re not alone in this. Those times are more than hard.
We’ve crossed paths for a reason.

Broken trust in a relationship doesn’t happen in a day.
It breaks down slowly over time, and you start to lose trust in yourself long before you realize it’s happening.
You can start to trust yourself again, even if the relationship is still hanging in the balance.
It doesn’t mean you’ll never be wrong.
It means you stop waiting to be certain before you let yourself move.
Some days it looks small. Not the version of the day someone else would’ve approved of.
Just the one you actually chose.
If this lands at all for you comment SOMA, so you can be seen even more.

True.
Our brain was literally created to detect danger.
Your nervous system doesn’t need a “big enough” betrayal to sound the alarm. It was built to detect danger and it doesn’t ask your permission about what qualifies.
That’s not you being dramatic. That’s your brain doing exactly what it’s designed to do: keeping you safe based on what it’s already learned to be afraid of.
Truth? Yes, this is response has layers of generational trauma as well as what you have experienced in this life.
Between my trainings and my personal experience, I have learned how this trauma holds in your body. I know first hand the cost of this holding.
The good news? The brain can relearn what’s safe so you don’t run your life on empty and bracing everyday.
If you want to learn more from me about betrayal trauma, comment Soma, so you can.

You don’t have to be loud to be strong.
You don’t have to shrink to be kind.
You can be you without feeling shame for every misstep you make.
You get to rest when you need to.
And ask for help without feeling like you failed at your “job”.
When you take time to see “you”, you can show up for others and not be depleted.
You’re not failing. You just can’t see how well you’re actually doing in the midst of the storm.
Comment SOMA and I’ll send you a clarifying freebie.

The tide doesn’t come in all at once.
It comes back, again and again, at its own pace.
And it never once apologizes for how long that takes.
You don’t have to either.
Healing isn’t a straight line you’re falling behind on.
It’s learning to recognize what’s coming before it takes over.
And it’s a return.
Over and over, until it holds.

Not shutting down.
Not giving up.
Just, done pretending the day was fine when it wasn’t.
Done answering “how are you” with the version that makes other people comfortable.
For some people, healing starts the moment they stop narrating their life for an audience.
Even if the only audience was ever themselves.
If today wasn’t fine, it doesn’t have to be. You’re allowed to close the laptop and just be tired.
if this sounds familiar at all comment Soma, and I’ll send you something that might help.

GI trouble. Sleep that won’t come easy. Appetite that swings from nothing to everything.
They look like three separate problems — you could book three different appointments for them.
But your nervous system’s whole job is sensing threat and turning systems on or off in response, and digestion, sleep, appetite, and your startle reflex all take their orders from it. When it stays switched to ‘on’ long after the threat is gone, none of them get the signal to “stand down”.
That’s why they move together — they were never separate to begin with.
If this is familiar, comment SOMA — I’ll send you something that might help.

You can list every reason you’re safe now.
The list is accurate. And it doesn’t land.
Safety isn’t decided by the mind, it’s learned by the body, the same way it learned to brace.
Through accumulated experience, not through argument.
That’s slower than deciding. It’s also more durable.
If this is where you are right now, comment SOMA and I’ll send you something that may bring some clarity.
