Eight months ago, I was lying in bed and got an idea.⁣
⁣
That’s not a rare thing.⁣
⁣
It usually happens when I lay down or when I’m in the shower or anytime I’m quiet and alone, for that matter.⁣
⁣
Sometimes I’ll just think on it for a while, most of the time I'll write it down, but this time I took action immediately.⁣
⁣
Right there from my phone in a pitch black room with my husband asleep next to me.
⁣
The idea was a social media account that was all about the Bible.⁣
⁣
I didn’t always love the Bible. In fact, I struggled with it for a lot of years. It was hard to read, didn’t make sense, often boring. ⁣
⁣
But one day in my college dorm room, I prayed and asked God to help me want to want to read the Bible. ⁣
⁣
Yes, you read that right. “God, help me WANT to want to read the Bible. I don’t even really want to right now. Help me to 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 to want it.”⁣
⁣
Since that time, I have fallen in love with this book and the God of the pages.⁣
⁣
It is not a book about religion. It is not a book of rules. It is a powerful, transformative book about life and God’s original design and so much more. It’s full of wisdom, promises, principles, instruction, and so much hope.⁣
⁣
This book will blow your mind and change your life if you let it.⁣
⁣
And that’s what I wanted others to taste and experience who might not otherwise be interested. ⁣
⁣
So, I grabbed my phone that night in February and created an Instagram account from bed: .⁣
⁣
Yeah, I know the Bible is way more than cool, but the purpose of this account is exposure, accessibility; it’s to reach people who are curious, and those who already love it. And if you already love, you'll agree: it’s definitely cool.⁣
⁣
That Instagram account has been sitting for the last eight months with no posts, no bio, no profile pic, and no followers.⁣
⁣
Until today.⁣
⁣
Today, I started an experiment of sorts to see if I can grow that account, impact and serve a ton of people, and monetize it.⁣
⁣
I’m giving myself 90 days — till the end of the year — to go from 0 to $ and bless a whole lot of people in the process.⁣
⁣

Reminiscing about my hand lettering days and thinking back on this cute Fall Print. 🍂

I always loved this one. The phrase is so powerful, the orangey ombre tones so warming, and I love that it's seasonal...just like our lives.

This verse is messing me up today in the best way.

The word "man" here in the original language is referring to a strong man, a warrior. It's emphasising strength or the ability to fight.

So, if even the most courageous — the one called to the front lines to protect the rest — takes his cues from Jehovah, how is it that I think I should have this whole thing figured out?

I feel the need for a retreat back to childlikeness today.

I feel a holy conviction to let go of the need for understanding, as in "having all the answers."

I thank God for the gift of this reminder today: I don't have to know.

My journey, this road, who am I to fully grasp it, or fully understand what God is doing and where He's leading?

I like knowing. I love verses like Jeremiah 33:3 and Daniel 2:22. But today I'm resting on this:

He knows. I don't. And I trust Him.

Faith is showing up in the presence of your enemy ‘cause you know no one can touch God’s chosen.⁣
⁣
Faith is calling for a showdown ‘cause you know God sent you and He’s about to show up and show off.⁣
⁣
Faith is seeing impossible odds and still knowing you’re gonna come out on top. ⁣
⁣
Faith is laughing at your adversary ‘cause their futile attempts are nothing to an omnipotent God.⁣
⁣
Faith (and I’m pretty sure some holy attitude 😆) is drenching the area where fire is supposed to fall with so much water you could swim, just to prove that God will do what He said He’s gonna do, and there is no element, obstacle or roadblock that can stop Him.⁣
⁣
Faith is declaring, “There is the sound of the abundance of rain,” when the skies are still clear and it’s been three-plus years since anyone’s seen a drop.⁣
⁣
Faith is finally seeing a cloud as small as the size of a man’s hand and telling your buddy, “Dude, you better hurry and take cover ‘cause it’s about to POUR.”⁣
⁣
AND IT DID.⁣
⁣
The fire came. The rain came. And God did what He said He was gonna do.⁣
⁣
Faith is believing the thing you’re praying for is already done before you ever see a sign of it.⁣
⁣
Faith is keeping watch for that thing — looking out for it continually — because you expect it to show.⁣
⁣
Faith is praying THROUGH a thing. It is prayer again and again, in many different forms, until you see the fulfillment of the promise. (This one is the hardest for me.)⁣
⁣
Faith is believing what you can’t see more than what you can.⁣
⁣
Say with me today in faith:⁣
⁣
I might be feeling the effects of the drought, but ⁣
⁣
I can hear a rumbling.⁣
⁣
I can see a cloud!⁣
⁣
And I’m staying ready because there WILL be a downpour.⁣
⁣
