I chose GCU because of its amazing campus, dedication to christian values, and its music program that is focused on letting creativity and community lead the way.

No matter how talented you are, it’s hard to make good music without the proper tools to back you up. Here are 3, easy to use, softwares that can give you the tools you need to for your next project.

1. Chordly - Chordly is a free website for writing and editing chord sheets with lyrics. It lets you add chords, transpose keys, organize songs, collaborate with others, and export in many different file types, making it useful for writing, practicing, or performing.

2. Serato - No turntables, no problem. Serato is a popular DJ software that’s relatively easy to pick up and powerful enough for pros. You can mix, loop, add effects, and even isolate vocals or drums, all while hooking up to almost any DJ controller. It also has tools for making beats and sampling different tracks, so it’s great whether you’re a live DJ or creating tracks on your own.

3. Cubase - Cubase is a digital audio work station that’s great for recording instruments and mixing music. It gives you tools for tracking, editing, and layering sounds, while also making it easy to add virtual instruments and effects. Many musicians use it because it works just as well for a home studio as it does in a pro setup.
