During the month of March, we celebrate women’s history month. This year I highlighted fearless leader, Dolores Huerta. Today, upon reading her statement regarding the atrocities committed by Cesar Chavez, I stand with her leadership and perseverance.

☘️ I sure am lucky to represent Arizona’s 24th Legislative District! As always, my focus is to ensure that we prioritize education, help improve our healthcare system, and protect our community. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to those that celebrate. Stay safe during these festivities.

Thank you so much for signing my petition and supporting our campaign. Your signature helps ensure we can continue fighting for our community at the State Capitol.

At a time when our families are facing real threats from increased ICE activity, your support sends a clear message: our community believes in standing together and protecting one another.

These signatures show how much our community cares about working together to defend our neighbors, strengthen our public schools, support working families, and expand access to healthcare and essential services.

I’m committed to making sure our community is protected, respected, and heard.

¡Sí se puede! ✊🏽

During Women’s History Month, I’m proud to honor Dolores Huerta, a fearless labor leader, civil rights champion, and co-founder of the United Farm Workers. She organized when it wasn’t popular, led when women were told to stand back, and reminded our communities that our voices and our votes matter.

As a State Representative serving the largest Latino populations in our state, I carry her example with me every day. Dolores Huerta has shown us that change doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because women step forward and demand justice.

Her fight for dignity, fair wages, and opportunity continues in our work at the Capitol. Because of leaders like her, we know our power.

Leadership comes in many different forms but should only be accepted with one commonality. That those leading do so to better the lives of those that are unrepresented. Just like George Washington lead our nation as a republic or Abraham Lincoln fought for the liberties of those enslaved they believed that the grandness of this nation can only be fulfilled through inalienable rights. As we move forward, we must expect representation of all Americans as our minimum. This should be the golden rule from the highest office in this nation.

Arizona, mí casa. This is where I raised my children and now get to see my beautiful grandchildren grow. On this Statehood Day my promise to Arizona is that I will continue to advocate for the vulnerable and stand up against the injustice our people face. This is our home, this is OUR ARIZONA!
