poor lil’ guy, you didn’t deserve this fate.
when I was a little one I was always outside catching bugs and animals. I caught a frog one day. There was a lot at my family’s bayside shore house. I would put the animals I caught in a container and just study them and hang out with them for a little while before releasing them.
My pap gave me an empty gas can one day, for this poor lil’ guy. In his defense I think my pap thought it was cleaned out. But the fumes were still present and deadly. Poor Lil Guy didn’t deserve be plucked from his natural environment and die as a result. I still feel guilty for the death of this lil frog. In making this painting I’m hoping to commemorate the lil guy and heal some shame for my part in his passing.
It might seem ironic messaging considering this painting is of a frog in a gas can, but respect wildlife and nature y’all 🐸💚 that’s the lesson I learned that summer day.
