Hi, I’m Koda, and I’ve been waiting since MAY for my forever family. Seriously… HIM SO TINY and somehow nobody has scooped me up yet?! I’m only 18 pounds, I love other dogs, I’m obsessed with my human, and if my foster dad leaves, I sleep in his office chair because apparently that’s the closest I can get to him. 😂 Also I got brows for days!

I’ve worked SO hard since coming into rescue. I’m learning my potty routine, I know to wait by the door, my manners are getting better, and most importantly, I’ve learned how to trust. Get down on my level, give me a minute to come to you, and once I decide you’re safe… congratulations, you now have a tiny love bug for life.

I don’t need a perfect human. I need someone who will give me structure, dog friends, a comfy sofa, a good bone, and enough patience to let me choose them. I’ve been waiting since May. How is my person STILL out there?!

Come on, guys. HIM. SO. TINY. 🤏😂 And he is SO ready to go home.

Some of us need a little more help. Some of us need more doctor visits, more time, more patience and more care. And some of us might never get adopted at all. But that doesn’t mean our lives are worth any less.

I’m Delilah Peach from Houston, TX, and I’m one of those misfits. This rescue promised that dogs like me would always have a safe place to land, no matter how long we need it.

Quick recap of last night! Always having fun so getting content isn’t always happening! Thank you Dollars 2 Dogs 501(c)3 Nonprofit and QuartHaus Drinkery for creating such amazing events!

Remember the girl from Chula Vista Animal Shelter that we desperately needed a temporary foster for? Thankfully, the director kept her safe and comfortable until we could get there.

Daphne has now seen our veterinarian and chiropractor and started laser therapy—and we’re already seeing changes.

She’s getting herself up for water and snacks, standing for longer periods and being nosey about everyone around her. She’s even making her way across the yard as best she can.

Her front feet curve outward, making it difficult to grip the ground. Her right back leg curves inward while her left splays out. She can tuck it underneath herself and take a few steps before it slides out again.

But Daphne keeps trying. Every. Single. Day.

Her X-rays show no spinal damage, fractures, broken bones or obvious joint damage. Our next step is an MRI to better understand what’s happening—and that is costly.

Daphne was found as a stray severely overheated. Someone bred her. Someone didn’t come for her. Somehow, she ended up in a situation where she could have died.

We can’t change what happened to her. We care about what happens NEXT.

Daphne will need ongoing chiropractic care, laser therapy and additional diagnostics. She may be with FFR for a long time, much like Pean Pean and several others currently in our care.

FFR is currently on an INTAKE HOLD because the medical costs of our recent intakes have become astronomical. We WANT to keep saying yes, but financially we simply cannot without help.

See guys I kept my promise, meet my friends! Kermit, Twig, Tootie, Tyke, Daphne, and my friend in the corner is new new and still needs a name. She is mad she got a bath today and she has this thing hanging off her bu****le. I gave her kisses but it’s ok we all come out of our shell when we get more comfortable.

Anyway all of us need constant care, all of us go tot he chiropractor every week. That bill is heavy but it’s has gotten all of walking without pain and Daphne.
is up on all fours now more then before.

Weiss Pean Pean she was an icon in this rescue and had to stay permanently like some of us will have to do. So if you support misfits like Pean Pean then support us also.

Our family’s hearts are shattered. Yesterday, we said goodbye to our Pean Pean—our Peaner Wiener, our sweet Queen Penelope. 💔

This is the heartbreak rescuers like us endure—the kind many pet owners never have to imagine. We take in the misfits no one else wants, and we carry the pain no one else has to. Our hearts break constantly, so we learn to guard them just enough to keep doing the work we do.

But Pean Pean loved her life, and she loved everyone she met. She lived longer than expected, and we will cherish every moment we were given with her.

When society failed her and she was abandoned in Riverside County, she found a safe place with us—a place where she could be completely herself and do whatever she wanted, including eating my food every night at dinner. We always made sure she got her piece. And if she wasn’t nearby, we brought her to the table. Pean went on vacations, car rides, and liked being on face time with me, when I was out of town rescuing others like her.

Pean Pean was an icon in the eyes of every dog. She stayed true to herself, true to us, and unapologetically Pean Pean until the very end.
