REAL LIFE KNIFE FIGHTING

I have been teaching the highest level of law enforcement and military weapon’s defense and NO ONE knows this:

Besides the two scenarios I explained in the previous email, there is a third. What happens if you have a blade, and you are defending yourself against someone who is unarmed?

Most high level instructors don’t have an answer for this. Why? It could happen!

Mike was a friend of mine, who was also a student. Mike was also a cop. A good one. Smart, athletic, knew the in and outs of his community outside of Chicago. However, one day he had to pull a gun on a perp who was acting out inside, and there was word that he just beat the crap out of his girlfriend and kids.

Mike found him and chased him down an alley way. Although Mike was athletic like I said, he was “small”… 5’7”, maybe 160 lbs. When he finally caught up to this bad guy, he quickly noticed he was at least 6’4” and over 250 lbs. Mike was outgunned in size and strength.

Mike put hands on him to arrest him, the guy fought back. Mike reached down to draw his firearm and it was GONE! After this whole thing ended he said when he got out of his squad car to chase the guy down the alley, his seat belt must have popped his holster snap, and when he ran, he must have lost it (it was later recovered almost 30 yards from him down the alley way).

Mike knew he couldn’t grapple this guy, and he didn’t want to punch it out with him, fearing he’d lose that fight quickly. So, he reached for his tactical folder, and popped it open. Luckily Mike had been training this scenario during the previous year, and he knew what to do.

This email is already triple the length of most of my emails, but my point is that you have to know how to protect yourself via any means necessary, and this was a good example of that.
