Jedi and Gambit! 🤣❤️

New best friends and both available for adoption.

Very thankful for our partnership with Heidi's Village…. An amazing place for newly rescued pups to heal, both emotionally and physically. We can’t do our work with their support.

Introducing Gambit! At just under 3 years old, this boy is a real catch. He was a little reserved in his first days with us, but his personality has started to shine through. He loves to take laps around the yard during playtime, and is great on leash. He also enjoys seeking affection from his favorite volunteers. And what can we say, those ears of his are pretty darn cute!

This young handsome fella is now ready for his forever family! He is social with medium-sized dogs as well as dogs his own size, so the perfect home would have a canine companion for him to play with!

If you live in Arizona and are interested in adopting Gambit, please fill out an application at www.boxerluv.org.

Nugget Update.....

For those of who have been following our newest boy, Nugget, his Echocardiogram was done, as scheduled, yesterday. We are waiting on the cardiology report but have been told that he has severe subaortic stenosis. It is a congenital condition with no fix or cure. There are treatments and procedures that can help with symptoms and potentially extend life so we will explore all of them. Activity restrictions and Beta Blockers, at a minimum, and potentially a minimally invasive balloon valvuloplasty. We'll be asking about the new "cutting balloon" that is discussed on Cornell University's Veterinary Medicine website. It is showing promising results in subaortic stenosis cases. We have great Veterinary Cardiologists in the Phoenix area - all who know us pretty well given the breed we support and their heart issues, SO, we'll get great advice and will follow through with whatever is going to give this sweet, young boy some good, long, quality of life. There is a reality to this - as all Boxer families know who've dealt with this - there is always risk of sudden death. We'll keep you all updated as we make decisions. If you're not familiar with his story, you can read about it here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CviQ348MT/

We will need a special home and family for him to go to. He is dog social, is a total love bug (LAP DOG) and, even though young at an estimated 2-3 years, VERY chill. He will have to stay in the Phoenix area in order for us to continue to provide lifelong cardiac care which will be covered by Boxer Luv. There is a risk to anyone's heart who steps up to help us give him the best life possible, going forward, but it will be very worth it.... If you'd like to talk about him more and explore a potential fit for you, please email me, directly, at [email protected]

Thank you! Randy

Meet Nugget!

This handsome, young boy needed our help last week. He was turned in stray, over the counter, at Casa Grande, AZ Animal Care and Adoption Center in April. He was left unclaimed for two weeks. During that time, he stole the hearts of shelter and rescue volunteers who spent time with him. We pulled him on the 7th and took him straight to our partner vet at Heidi's Village.

Unfortunately, a grade 5 (of 6) heart murmur was found during his exam. Follow up x-rays revealed a rather large right sided heart enlargement. His neuter surgery, scheduled for the next day, was canceled and an Echocardiogram was scheduled. That Echo is tomorrow, Wed 5/13 after which we should have a diagnosis and prognosis. We'll make sure to update everyone once we have results.

In the meantime, he's being spoiled with much needed medicated baths (skin infections) and LOTS of rest time/ TLC. He is a very, very sweet boy who we hope has a long life ahead of him....

We are so thankful to the City of Casa Grande Animal Care and Adoption Center Staff and Volunteers for taking such good care of him and alerting us to his need for help....

Meet Weda! Weda is another one of the pups who came to rescue as part of the Guadalupe 18. Just like her fellow pups that were surrendered, she was a little nervous in her new environment with new people. After having some medical completed, she slowly began to get more comfortable. This pint-sized cutie now enjoys romps around the yard with other pups, and has even started to accept some affection from volunteers. She will also gladly take breaks from running around with her friends, often going full sploot-mode in the yard to get cozy.

Weda would do best with a companion animal in the home to help her build even more confidence.

If you live in Arizona and are interested in adopting Weda, please fill out an application at www.boxerluv.org.

Meet Curry! Curry came to rescue after being surrendered with 17 other pups to a few different rescues. When Curry first came to us, he was a shy, scared little guy. In the weeks that have followed, though, Curry has become quite the brave little adventurer! Curry is now confident enough to go on walks, play with toys, and do all the zoomies around the yard. And at just about a year old, he’s got ALL the energy for those zoomies! Curry has also learned to love affection and now actively seeks out pets and belly rubs from volunteers.

Curry is deaf, but is a very smart boy and has started to learn basic commands such as “sit,” and he is always eager to please especially when there is a yummy treat waiting for him! Curry would do best with a companion animal in the home.

If you live in Arizona and are interested in adopting Curry, please fill out an application at www.boxerluv.org.

Meet Misty and Araki! If you’ve ever wished for double the wiggles, double the smiles, and double the love… these two have you covered. Araki (the handsome blockhead on the left) and Misty (his equally gorgeous partner in crime) are a bonded pair who came to Boxer Luv Rescue after their owner passed away. They’ve handled the transition with so much heart, and now they’re ready to bring that same joy into a new home.

These two are big Boxers with even bigger personalities. They’re friendly with everyone they meet, adore treats, and think affection is the greatest invention of all time.

Araki is currently being treated for Valley Fever, but you’d never know it. He’s happy, active, and living his best life right alongside his girl.

What they want most is simple: a home where they can stay together, soak up love, and keep being the joyful, people-loving pair they are.

If you’ve got room in your heart (and on your couch) for two wonderful Boxers, Araki and Misty would love to meet you. Arizona residents can fill out an adoption application on our website at www.boxerluv.org
